Holmes dominated Lloyd the entire first half. Jensen the QB had about 150 yards rushing and Oden probably had close to 100. Oden also scored for Holmes 4 times. Not really a recap I know but I wasn't able to give my full attention to the game due to having other issues to deal with lol. But Holmes D looked great against an outmatched Lloyd team and after they built the 27-0 halftime lead they just coasted to the finish line.

The offers will keep rolling in for this kid, he is a great TEAM player. He is not flashy, doesn't put himself above the team, and he is a gifted athlete. Good luck to him in his recruiting process and in his senior year.

I am a huge Holmes supporter but was a little surprised to see Housely and Dom. Johnson on the list. I think the only Sr. Holmes had that should have been on this list was JaMel Riley, but I wish all 3 the best of luck.

Any further updates on the possibility of a transfer? I have gotten some text messages but nothing substantiated yet. Alot of buzz in the air though in Covington.

I was under the impression if you have signed LOI or not, and committed to a program who fired there coach prior to you attending that university, you can be let out of your committment. That was the big thing with Michael Beasley a while back. Kansas State didn't release him and didn't have to grant him a waiver because they did not fire Huggins, Hugs left on his own, but if Hugs would have been fired they would have had to release Beasley from his committment. At least that is how I thought it went down.

Many people who watched Holmes only in 9th region play came away with the assumption that Holmes couldn't get out and run. Those people were sorely mistaken when/if they seen the dogs at Rupp.

I voted for Pittman, just purely based on his size coupled with his leaping ability. He has potential to grow a bit over the summer and hopefully put a little bulk on as well. But JJ is a monster on the glass so I think he will be up there as well.

It is high school basketball, don't water it down. Leave it on the refs on the court. If you are not using video equiptment during the regular season don't impliment it in the sweet 16. Same argument I make for using a shot clock. I am completely against it.

Holmes is 138-31 over the past 5 seasons. 70-5 over last 2 years with 4 sweet 16 appearances, 3 final fours, 2 championship appearances, and one title. That is soilid, and coming of a 36-2 season, there is no way that they don't get national attention to start the season next year.

36-2 with both losses avenged (Boone Co and Bryan Station), a 70-5 record over the last 2 years, back to back state finals appearances, and returning 2 of the 3 all tournament team members (Ricardo Johnson and Elijah Pittman), the sweet 16 MVP (Rico Johnson), a memeber of the first and second team all state (Elijah and Rico), the player that led them in double double's (Jerimiah Johnson), and one of the best sophomores in the state (Kevon Rice) I think it is a safe bet to assume they will be a top 25 team next season.

DVR is my friend lol... Just got it recorded last night. I wish there was a way to get the whole run to the finals. Christian Co was a good game, Lex Cath was a dunkfest, and Elliott Co was one that everyone was waiting on all year.

Yes, JJ will be a senior. I would also have him above Euton, I wasn't to impressed with him the 2 times I watched him play this year.

No one... Kavon will be a year older and stronger and probably taller. Between Mayfield, McClendon, Slusher from the JV level they will fill in quite well for the graduating seniors. The 6'7 boy on the freshman team will be able to add more length down low in limited minutes and Kavon younger brother Dontel is already 6'3 and can put the ball in the hole. Oh yeah on top of that Rico, JJ, and Elijah all return... would be more shocked next year than i would have been this year if the Dawgs are not back at Rupp in March.

I think Brandon Housely and Jerimiah Johnson made a case too, but it is hard to pick anyone from Holmes to take off, Elijah, Rico, and Jamel played extremely well this whole tournament. JJ a.k.a mr double double is a stat sheet stuffer and Brandon Housely stepped it up to another level this tournament.

Negative, with out Sanford taking over vs Bowling Green late, they would have never made it to the quarterfinals. He finished that one with 28, 17 in the second half.

I am with you on this one. I have watched at least 25 Holmes games this year, and this weekend, especially Friday night, they played some of there best ball.

I graduated from Holmes but I was in attendence for all of those, I have been to papa johns the last 5 years for the championships, and to rupp 4 of the last 5 and I root for every N.Ky team there is. I have been on the sour end of some of the rivalries and on the smiling end as well on the field. But now some of my best friends are from Newport, Dixie, Highlands, Cov Cath ect. and we still talk trash but at the end of the day we root for each other to bring back the championship when its time to represent N.KY.
