Newports run came with Herndon, Hayes, McClendon, Slusher and R. Johnson in the game. The bulldogs are playing a ton of players and that benifited Newport in the second quarter. Not making excuses though, they will need that depth come Feb and March, those kids gotta learn how to play now if they want to see the court in crunch time

This seems very similar to how the first half was they first game. Holmes pulled away later in the game. We will see how the second half unfolds in this one

At the Half Holmes scoring leaders are - R.Johnson 9, Pittman 7, J. Johnson 4, K. Rice 4, Hayes 3, Slusher 2, Herndon 1. Holmes has played 9 players to this point, Mayfield and McClendon both also getting some action but not entering the scoring log yet

Newport is a better team than Villa, but this is similar to how that game went yesterday. Holmes got up by 7 or 8 and it looked like they'd pull away but then they let them right back in the game.
