I think this one will be very low scoring... HC will hold the ball as long as they can, they will play a zone, pack it in, and Holmes will hesitate with the long range shots after going 7-26 last outing. I got Holmes 41-24

Princeton is ranked #36 according to ESPN Rise top 50 and carry a higher rating than any team in KY and higher than #46 Bowman Academy that Holmes played earlier this season who is rated #1 in Indiana This was far from a horrible loss, Holmes showed alot of character and played hard for 36 minutes... Princeton is loaded and if anyone thought Holmes would win this one easily they were wrong. Princeton were state runner ups in Ohio's D-1 class last year and should be playing in it again this year.

Pittman seemed to be frustrated tonight in the paint, the kids #3 and #21 from Princeton were playing very physical with him down low and Eli looked to the refs on several occasions, almost pleading for a call. After he realized he wasn't going to get the call, he just went down and stood on the block with his hands on his knees, or he went outside looking for a jumpshot or something off the dribble. He really has improved his post game this year, but his effort and attitude is still a bit in question. I am a huge Holmes fan but I am very critical of this team because I know how good they can be. They beat themselves in alot of the games they lose, or don't preform well it. Its really a shame because they could have beat Princeton tonight, they should have beating Mceachern, Ga. and they had every opprotunity to beat Ballard.

Yes, They seem to do that alot, there half court sets seem to have no rhyme or reason to them and then someone justs hoist a jumpshot. I don't like it, don't understand it, but 36-2 last year I really can't argue with what Henley does. Princeton looked alot more fluid in there half court sets, until late in the game when Pittman would come from the post to the free throw line and screen for Rico. Ric would then dribble drive and he had JJ in the corner, Eli at the foul line, or he could go to the basket with it. They ran that like 5 possessions in a row and it looked really effective, then once they got back in the game, they went right back to standing around.

Either way it went, OT with clock malfunction or in regulation, Holmes lost by 3. Bringing up that 8 seconds or so, over and over takes away from the show we got from Holmes and Princeton tonight.

JJ was 3-12 tonight from the arch... He wasn't hitting and just kept hoisting.

AGREE 110%, not knocking Siebert at all, but these 2 put on a show tonight and I think Ric got the better even though his team fell short on the scoreboard. And I know the type of kid ric is he would trade every basket he scored tonight in for a W, but it is what it is.

Holmes shot themselves out of this game, like they almost did vs. Central last year in the state finals.

Correct, those two battled all night and put on quite a show.

Princeton is #1 in Cincinnati, #36 nationally by ESPN Rise, and State Runner up in Ohio D-1 last season.

It will be interesting to see who comes out of both regions... Last year I, as most were expecting to see Scott Co. come out of the 11th but they fell to Lex Cath, these regional tournys are so competitive, there is no way to predict who you will see at Rupp

Its a shame only one team can come out of the 7th.... Big time ball being played in that area

They have some fliers... And when they get up its fun to watch. I am disappointed with how they have played for the most part this season though, not knocking MC, but last year if Holmes jumped up 21-6 on anyone they would have played the whole game with a decent lead and just laid on the opponet. This year they are either giving up leads or playing from behind because they have yet to be able to put together and complete game vs anyone. This could be a problem vs good teams, as it almost was tonight.

Thats actually happened a few times this year... Not like anyone is keeping count though lol

11-13 from Pittman is really impressive...

Holmes controlled this one from early on, even though JJ was in early foul trouble. They led by 13 I believe at Half and were up as much as 24 in the game.

Last time Holmes won by 18 at Holmes and Newport missed 17 free throws... I knew with a second chance, on a nuetral court Newport would give it heck...

Holmes played 9 tonight, all got solid minutes cuz there were no mop up minutes. Thats with Avery out with an ankle injury. If these guys keep developing Holmes may be deeper than last year. Not as good at the top because Riley and D.Johnson gone hurts, but last year they went 7 deep... Mayfield picked up some minutes in desperate situations, they are playing 10 now when healthy.

Holmes shot 52% from the field and had 44 team rebounds, Pittman had 11 and both Johnson's had 10... All 3 had double doubles
