Male 52 Eastern 51

Male is showing that they belong in the top rankings. Congrats to them on the win.

Big win for the Bulldogs. Congrats.. That region is Murderers Row !!!

Were both teams at full strength?

Male was rated preseason top 10 in just one poll....looks like they're living up to that ranking now. They've been playing some good basketball lately.

Its a shame only one team can come out of the 7th.... Big time ball being played in that area

This is a cliche' statement used for the 7th region 'every' season. I still feel as though perhaps this cliche' is even more prevalent now in that maybe the rest of the state is down.

Eastern has been a bit disappointing to me. Didnt think they played well in the KOB. Teams are zoning them and they are stuggling to score. After watching them in the summer, I thought they would be the best team in state. I realize the 7th is tough and anything goes in rivalry's but 4 starters back off of a state tournament team that just is not jelling. Lot of time left in the season though I fully expect them to get it going and be a big favorite down the stretch.

Good post. Four starters back is correct, but missing their best starter with Dow graduating is the difference. When they needed points or just a little extra, Dow gave it to the Eagles.

Holmes without Riley and Eastern without Dow, both are seeing the same pains.

The 7th is definately very interesting this season. The cliche' typically applies to the 11th as well. The folks in Louisville are definately having fun this season, it appears there are very few gimmes.

True about the 11th. Not true about the fun. In fact, the LIT will be a headache.

I'm sure it will, stock up on your Advil.

Lortabs and a bottle of tums.

It will be interesting to see who comes out of both regions... Last year I, as most were expecting to see Scott Co. come out of the 11th but they fell to Lex Cath, these regional tournys are so competitive, there is no way to predict who you will see at Rupp

I'd say you're right. Dowe was not only their best player last year but also their team leader. Eastern is full of juniors this year and they haven't had anyone step up thus far.

Eastern will go as far as Delquan Thomas takes them. If they are going to be successful this year, he needs to step up and take that leadership role.

I didn't know Male lost to McCreary Central at LexCath Tourney.

McCreary beat both Seneca and Male.
