I know that they have done an all tournament team the last couple of years because members of my daughter's team have been selected to the team. Her head coach was surpised as well yesterday when they did not have an all tournament team. She said that she did not know the reason for the change.

The 10th region did not select an all tournament team for their regional tournament. I know they have in the past. Anyone have any insight about this? Are other regions doing the same thing? I saw from another post that the 8th region selected an all tournament team for their tournament. Just curious.

She finished the season with 759 points (Scott single season record) and 349 rebounds and a little over 100 blocks. She had a great season. I am most proud of how she led her team and played with class and poise throughout.

Scott played their hearts out, but when the game developed into a very physical up and down game, that is not their strength. Tibbs was a warrior to the end with 2-3 Lady Cards hanging on her all night. 24 points 19 rebounds 11-12 blocks In the end the pressure defense and turnovers were too much. Great season Lady Eagles. (21-9) You battled until the very end.

I think they play most of their home games in the old high school gym in down town Maysville. That is where Scott played them earlier this year. I am not sure of the overall breakdown between the two locations.

Scott probably played their best game of the year at the right time. This was a team victory. Tibbs led them, but there were key contributions from other players. Taylor Stinson played a huge role tonight making Mason pay on the weakside when Tibbs was double and triple teamed. Scott played their tempo and handled Mason's press and even made them pay on the other end a few times. Scott was in a match up zone all night which led to fewer foul calls. Mason had trouble with it all night and was not able to get in to their dribble drive and pitch style of play. Congrats to the Lady Eagles. You stepped up big tonight. Good luck vs. GRC tomorrow night. A tough one indeed.

Does anyone have any details on the game in general? Individual scoring?

Brossart has been playing well down the stretch. They ended the 3rd quarter on a 15-2 run to take control of the game and made free throws down the stretch. Sanker was huge for Brossart. Scott and Brossart in the finals on Friday night.

Any updates from this game?

I heard that they had been announced but do not know any details.

Lauren Tibbs scored her 2000th career point with a 27 point performance tonight in a victory at Dayton. Congratulations Lauren on another great milestone.

Scott has rescheduled its game vs. Highlands for Thursday night. It is senior night. They are still figuring out if it will be a girl/boy double header.

Scott vs Highlands was originally scheduled for Monday night and was postponed until tonight. It has been moved again until Thursday night. It might end up being a girl/boy double header on Thursday.

I was confused as well when I saw it posted on the KHSAA. I double checked with our coach and she told about the boy's draw being on the wrong side and confirmed the real girl's draw. All three school mentioned above were 3-1 but Scott won the coin flip for the number one seed.

Head coach from Miami of Ohio was the only coach in attendance last night.

Another good team effort by the Lady Eagles as they move to 17-6 on the year. Lauren Tibbs led the Eagles with a career night. She had 48 points and 22 rebounds both single game records for Scott HS boys and girls. Congratulations Lauren and the entire Lady Eagle team.

The list is pretty long at this point. Conferences include Big East, SEC, MAC, Sun Belt, Big 10. She has about 10+ firm offers of full scholarships and is trying to narrow things down a bit. There are still a number of schools still evaluating her. Notre Dame's head coach was at the game last night. They are in town to play UC on Tuesday.

Just the girls

The 10th region just keeps getting more and more interesting. It seems that the top 8 teams have beaten each other at various times throughout the year.

With Scott's win this evening at Silver Grove they secured the number one seed in the district tournament. They won the coin flip held last week between Campbell Co., Brossart and Scott and needed the win tonight to make it official. Scott will play the winner of Calvary Christian and Silver Grove on one side of the bracket and Campbell Co. will play Brossart on the other side. I do not know the specific schedule.

I don't think there is a limit on when an offer can be made by a college. Sophomore year the college is only permitted one correspondence to the recruit which is usually a letter and questionaire. Coaches can talk to the recruit anytime they are on the college campus and the recruit can call the coach anytime. Junior year the college can communicate via mail and e-mail as much as they want. The same rules apply for on campus and phone calling. In April, May and June of the junior year, colleges are permitted to call the recruit once a month. They can offer anytime. Most will not offer until the head coach has seen the athlete play. Some will not offer until the recruit comes and visits on campus. We have had some make us offers over the phone or via e-mail to demonstrate their interest. The recruit can make a verbal committment anytime, but the earliest they can sign is November of their senior year. It is very difficult to determine the exact level of interest from the letters that players receive their sophomore year. You can literally get 100's of letters. The true test of sincere interest comes the junior year when you can begin to communicate more regularly and begin to establish relationships with coaches. Even then it might seem that they are interested, but unless they have offered, you never know where your athlete fits into their plans. Coaches always have plans A, B, C, D and sometimes E. It can be very confusing and it is definitely a learning process. We have learned to ask directly.

Not very close. She is a gifted athlete, but leaping ability is an area she still needs some work. That picture does make her look extremely tall.
