  1. Congratulations and good luck to Jenna. I know it is a relief to get that decision off her shoulders. Sorry we will not be making some trips to Milwaukee together, but am glad she will be going where she feels the most comfortable.
  2. Thanks Panda! She is thrilled to be moving onto Marquette at the end of this month to take two summer classes and begin working out with the strength coach. As far as the refs are concerned, there were a number of calls that really left you scratching your head. Kentucky could never get any traction because of questionable calls or no calls. Indiana played extremely aggressive man to man all night. Very inconsistent is the best way to describe it.
  3. Indiana came out with a whole different level of intensity tonight. Their half court defense really made it difficult on Kentucky to get anything going on offense. They keyed on Sarah H. And really shut her down. Kentucky had less success tonight preventing penetration from the Indiana guards tonight. Kentucky turned the ball over quite a bit again tonight. Kentucky played hard and really battled, but could never put together a consistent run. Tibbs only played a few minutes. Coach went with a different rotation. There was not a real emphasis to get the ball into the low post which is Tibbs' strength. She cheered and supported the team throughout and had a fabulous all star experience. I would have liked to see her get more of a chance to work against the undersized Indiana posts.
  4. What a great team effort by the Kentucky girls. My Lauren has been telling me how great their team chemistry is. It came through loud and clear tonight. They scratched, clawed, hussled and out worked Indiana. It was not always pretty, but they hung in there and got a great win. Girls on the bench who are not used to being there cheering and supporting their team mates. Hammond led them, but ten other girls scored. They played lock down defense with very few lapses. I hope we can get the brooms out tomorrow night and sweep the series. Congratulations girls!
  5. Tibbs will be playing with the Kentucky all stars on Friday in louisville and Saturday in Indy so she will not be at the NKY event.
  6. The Indiana guards are expected to be their strength. They are very athletic. Kentucky expects to have an advantage inside and plans on trying to take advantage of it. The only report i can give on the 2012 class is from what I saw at the scrimmage. They did not have a lot of size, but were very athletic
  7. Correct score was 83-46. Thought the update I got was a final
  8. Senior all stars came to play tonight. They won 81-41 and put together a solid overall game. Guard play was strong and their passing was much better. This was without Sara Hammonds as she was attending a banquet. Game one vs. Indiana is Friday night at 5:30.
  9. Thanks WVFrank. Nice photos and video. I will give updates on tonight's scrimmage at Mercer Co.
  10. KY All Stars defeated the first JR All Star team tonight 80-72 at a very steamy Louisville Eastern gym. The seniors built the lead early and led the whole game by anywhere from 8 to 15 points. Scoring was fairly balanced for the seniors and juniors for that matter. Coach Stallings subbed freely and tried a variety of combinations. The seniors were sloppy at times and committed too many turnovers. Looked like they are still getting comfortable with each other on the floor and where to go with the ball. I think they will be more fluid tomorrow night. Moss probably led the juniors and the young lady from Louisville Manuel led the seniors (plays 3 or 4) She had 16-18 points. 10th region update: Tibbs 10 points/ 5 rebounds Rogers 3 points/several steals
  11. Practices going well. They really seem to have established a good team chemistry. I caught their interviews on 790 AM (Denny Crum and Joe B Hall) radio show this morning. Great interview. The girls who were interviewed represented themselves and the all stars well. Scrimmage one tomorrow night. (5:30 at Louisville Eastern HS)
  12. I will give updates and game details all week
  13. The Kentucky all stars report for their final week of preparation on Saturday. They have workouts scheduled beginning on Saturday afternoon. Their two scrimmages against the Junior all stars are June 7 and 8 and the games are June 10 and 11. Good luck girls and Go Kentucky!
  14. My daughter said the weekend went very well. They worked extremely hard and felt the team chemistry was fantastic. I look forward to seeing it all come together the week of June 3.
  15. I have not heard who the players will be, but do know the dates of the scrimmages. Tuesday, June 7th. Girls and boys scrimmage starting at 5:30 at Eastern HS in Louisville Wednesday, June 8th. Girls scrimmage at Mercer Co. HS in Harrodsburg, KY. Does not list a start time
  16. The Kentucky All Star Team is in Louisville this weekend for the first time as a team for a mini camp. They will practice four times and do some team bonding. They report for All Star week on June 3. Good luck!!!
  17. Congratulations. I am sure she is glad to have it done and committed to a place where she feels so comfortable. UF was in Lauren's final four so we know what a great opportunity it is. Now she can just relax and play. Good luck.
  18. Congratulations to Syd and all of the other girls recognized. N. Ky was well represented on the various all star and all state teams. Well done!!
  19. After watching some of the tryouts over the weekend, I knew she was going to make it. Her defense was outstanding. She was constantly around the ball and came up with numerous steals and deflections. Very impressive.
  20. Congratulations to Syd and Lauren for representing N. KY so well. Great job!
  21. Day two finished up today at 2:30. There were two sessions today. The team will be announced on Monday at the web site http://www.kyallstars.net
  22. Tryouts started in Louisville on Friday at Dupont Manuel HS. 36 girls in attendance (26 1's, 2's and 3's/ 10 4's and 5's) well organized and a very cool experience for the girls. Great competition at all positions. Two more sessions today and the team will be announced on Monday via their web site
  23. I am surprised though I am not very familiar with the situation. Walton has had a good run under his leadership. (regional championship and always in the mix) Is he leaving to take another position?
  24. It is $225.00 to play. It goes towards the player's uniform and practice gear. Players are encouraged to get sponsors to cover the cost. I understand that many times the school ball coach will pay the fee through the school funds. It is certainly nice to be invited to play, but a little strange the players are asked to pay to play in an all star game.
  25. Lauren was invited to play and decided not to. It is a pay to play event which played a part. She is really focusing on the upcoming tryouts for the Kentucky/Indiana game. Those tryouts are April 15 and 16. Making that team and playing in those games is one of her goals before she leaves for Marquette at the end of June.
