  1. The Lady Colonels come back from a 7 point deficit at halftime to defeat NDA on their home court. Sophomore, Brooke Davis hit two 3's in the third quarter to ignite the Colonel comeback. Liza Tibbs hit four straight free throws down the stretch. Tibbs led the Colonels with 16 points and 11 boards. Congratulations Lady Colonels.
  2. Liza and Ally will make a pretty formidable high/low tandem for the next four years at Bellarmine. Congratulations
  3. Liza signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her basketball career and education at Bellarmine University next year at Dixie Heights HS today at 3pm in front of her team mates, family, coaches and friends. She is thrilled to be apart of the Bellarmine family!!!!
  4. Dixie should be greatly improved this year. Their point guard and #2 guard are a year older and worked a lot on their game. They have very solid JV players moving up who should make considerable contributions. Tibbs brings her 17 points/8 rebounds a game back for another year. She is a year stronger. This group has a very strong team chemistry which will help as well.
  5. Thank goodness Liza Tibbs is fine. A big thank you to the Thomas More athletic trainers and the doctors at Cincinnati Sports Medicine for thoroughly checking her out that afternoon and making sure she was ok.
  6. Dixie Heights Girls are playing at Thomas More this week. 4-0 thus far with a lot of young girls playing very well in their new roles on the varsity.
  7. Who were the other players selected to the Enquirer's All Star Team? I have not seen it in the paper.
  8. I promise Panda this is it for the Tibbs family. Lauren and Liza have worked very hard to make the most of their God given skills. Looking forward to an enjoyable senior year for Liza and the beginning of her career at Bellarmine and Lauren's final two years at Marquette. Lots of bball ahead for the Tibbs family.
  9. Lauren played her entire career at Scott HS. We live in their district. I worked at Dixie my entire career and Liza decided that she wanted to attend Dixie so she is a junior at Dixie. Lauren is playing college ball at Marquette University.
  10. Liza Tibbs verbally commits to play basketball at the next level at Bellarmine University. Congratulations Liza!! Proud of you!!
  11. It was a very nice evening. Nancy Winstel was the guest speaker and did a great job reminding us why "sports matters." Richard Skinner did another nice job as the MC. Always a well done event.
  12. The Lady Colonels battled Boone Co. every step of the way last night and came up a little short. Two Boone free throws with 1.4 seconds left gave them the victory. Congratulations on the effort and carry that momentum into districts.
  13. Yes she does. We have been working through the recruiting process and she has some good opportunities.
  14. Congratulations to Liza for scoring her 1000th career point tonight in the first half vs. Boone County. Your hard work is paying off!!!!
  15. Just wanted to give a shout out for Liza's great performance. Not trying to stir the pot on any other issues.
  16. Liza Tibbs of Dixie Heights HS scored a career high 41 points and added 13 rebounds in Dixie's win last night. She was 14/16 from the field and 13/14 from the line. Congratulations to Liza on an outstanding performance.
  17. A shout out to Liza Tibbs on a career high 31 points in a losing effort. She added 12 rebounds as well.
  18. #50 is Molly Diamond. I agree. She plays extremely hard. Rebounds the ball very well and is strong from the free throw line. If Dixie can get the turnovers under control, they can make some noise. Their freshman point guard is learning and growing each game. She also plays very hard.
  19. Dixie hung in there in the first half even though they struggled with Highlands press which forced numerous turnovers. They cut the lead to 4 or 5 and had three straight possessions to cut into the lead more but could not convert. Highlands was strong from the free throw line throughout the game and iced it down the stretch from the line. Tibbs led Dixie with 19 points and 13 boards. Highlands had nice contributions for a variety of players. Very difficult match ups for Dixie the entire night.
  20. Close game throughout. Dixie made a run in the 4th quarter to take the lead for good. Tibbs lead the way for the Colonels with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Diamond had a strong game for Dixie as well making some clutch free throws down the stretch. Harrison County's post player (#4) had a fantastic game. Very strong inside.
  21. Dixie registers their first win of the season. Tibbs leads the way with 21 points and 8 boards. Grant Co. battled and would not let Dixie pull away.
  22. Another free throw shooting contest. 50 fouls called. This was a 2 point game late in the 3rd quarter. Dixie battled but could not overcome foul trouble for key players throughout the game and key turnovers. Tibbs was tough inside again but foul trouble limited her opportunities as it did for most of the players on the floor.
