Highlands 56 Dixie Heights 50

Featured Replies

Dixie hung in there in the first half even though they struggled with Highlands press which forced numerous turnovers. They cut the lead to 4 or 5 and had three straight possessions to cut into the lead more but could not convert. Highlands was strong from the free throw line throughout the game and iced it down the stretch from the line. Tibbs led Dixie with 19 points and 13 boards. Highlands had nice contributions for a variety of players. Very difficult match ups for Dixie the entire night.

A battle of former Highlands stars and their respective teams.

Sounds like a good game. Dixie seems to be heading in the right direction.

Birds struggle from the field again and don't shoot it very well. This a a good shooting team that is struggling with it right now. Look out when they start shooting better. I sure hope it comes around because they will be fun to watch. A little frustrating to watch right now, but I'd rather struggle and be 4-1 than look pretty and be 1-4!

I agree with Clyde. Dixie on the way up. They play hard for coach Smith. They don't "wow" you with athleticism, but they do a lot of good things that keep them in the game. Tibbs was good, but I was also very impress with number 50...the other post player. So sorry I didn't catch her name. She plays hard and does a lot of good things for Dixie.

#50 is Molly Diamond. I agree. She plays extremely hard. Rebounds the ball very well and is strong from the free throw line. If Dixie can get the turnovers under control, they can make some noise. Their freshman point guard is learning and growing each game. She also plays very hard.

I agree with the turnovers statement. Nothing against them, just young guards. I believe one of the first guards off the bench is a freshman as well. If you take away their turnovers, they may have a couple other good wins as well! They are definitely on and upward trend! Its all a part of growing up!

Thanks for providing Molly's name! I'm terrible about that!
