Kentucky girls coach Chris Stalling, the coach at Bullitt East, said Prisha Rogers excelled against the state’s top players during the tryouts and is expecting big things in the future.

 

 

“She had a great tryout,” he said. “She used her length and quickness on defense and got a lot of deflections during the games,” he said. “She gives us a slasher and driver on offense. We are looking for her to be high energy when she is on the floor.”

 

Following her selection to the 12-member team, Prisha Rogers became the first player from Clark since 1992 to be selected to participate in the two-game series between the two border rivals.

 

Like, her cousin Corey Rogers, Prisha Rogers, who recently signed with Walters State College, used heart and determination to make the team and also looked toward the rim more consistently.

 

“I played defense really well (during the tryouts),” she said. “I tried to score more, instead of being unselfish, than I usually do. I just took it to the hole.”

 

Clark girls coach Scott True said Prisha Rogers “played extremely well over the weekend against some of the best players in the state.”

 

“It was really fun to watch her play, but it was also fun to watch her compete against that level of competition. I’ve always said she will be a better college player than a high school player, because she’s unselfish and she likes to distribute the ball and she showed that (last) weekend.”

After watching some of the tryouts over the weekend, I knew she was going to make it. Her defense was outstanding. She was constantly around the ball and came up with numerous steals and deflections. Very impressive.

Thanks. She has played that way all season, but you never know what these All star coaches are looking for. Very proud that both of the 10th region girls are on the team. They will represent the 10th very well.
