The 10th region did not select an all tournament team for their regional tournament. I know they have in the past. Anyone have any insight about this? Are other regions doing the same thing? I saw from another post that the 8th region selected an all tournament team for their tournament. Just curious.

I know back in the 90's they didn't have an all-tournament team either and then the 10th Region Girls Coaches Association was started in 1998 and from that point on they not only had a regional all-tournament team but they also started an overall 1st, 2nd, and Honorable-Mention teams for the region. And since developed a banquet for the players and a Hall of Fame. Hopefully, we have no regressed back to not honoring those who perform well in the tournament.

I am pretty sure that both the boys and girls 10th Region tournaments do not have an all-tournament team. Pretty sure there has not been an all-tournament team on either side for over 20 years or longer. Instead they have 1st and Honorable-Mention on the boys side that honors body of work for the entire season. The girls have a 1st, 2nd, and Honorable-Mention for the season.

I know that they have done an all tournament team the last couple of years because members of my daughter's team have been selected to the team. Her head coach was surpised as well yesterday when they did not have an all tournament team. She said that she did not know the reason for the change.

yeah I have to echo that they have had all-tournament region teams after the tournament was over and it was just for those who played in the tournament. Haven't been to a regional for quite a while so I can't speak to when the last time they had an all-tournament team.

The 9th region still has all tournament teams. Not sure why they wouldn't. Players deserve to be acknowledged for their hard work.

An all tournament team where every coach votes and the awards announced are is one thing. This is the way they were done in the old days.

 

Now where the coaches stand off to the side and pick them; not as meaningful really. The season awards should be for acknowledgement, do away with the tournament all tourneys.
