I agree with the majority of your comments, but I think tonight was an indication of the maturity level of the Hounds. It would have been very easy for them to take Bell lightly, but they didn't. As far as Williamsburg goes, I think this will be the same type of test. On paper Corbin should take care of business. However, as we all know, the game isn't played on paper. Williamsburg has all the makings of a decent squad - good guards and size on the post. They are pretty much locked into the 4th seed in the district barring a couple of upsets so they have nothing to lose and I think Corbin can expect they get Williamburg's best shot. You also called the LCA game right. CHS should win, but much like the Louisville Butler game their record is not indicative of their ability

I agree with you that Bell will be better. However, I think they need to learn how to use their physical gifts for them instead of against them. They are big, strong team that wastes a lot of fouls reaching and slapping. If they do this and improve ball movement and shot selection they will not be a team anyone will want to face come tournament time. Madon will be a fine player. I watched him play about 5 times now and if his mental game catches up with his physical game (which it will - he's still learning) he will be one of the better players in the region over the next couple of years.

I agree. I would not want to face the Knights in February or March. They have one of the best press defenses I have seen this year and they will only get better.

I look for the Hounds to win, but it will be a big test playing on Log Mountain. Also, I think these are the types of games that say a lot about the focus of a team. Corbin just came off of a big win vs Lex. Cath. so....How will they respond? We'll find out tomorrow.

You're right some bigger offers may come along. Especially if he finishes strong. A trip to Rupp wouldn't hurt either. As far as the scholarship money. Schools like Centre, Transy, and Georgetown have endowments and donors that would make Barack Obama blush. If they really want him - scholarship money will be there.

Hasn't made a decision yet, but I think he is leaning towards Centre. Josh is a great student and I think the academics there are very attractive to him.

Attendance wasn't bad for New Year's Eve. Bell didn't get ripped off. They cooked their own goose. Poor shot selection in the final minutes. As far as the the block/charge call - it was a dumb foul either way. The KC player had just crossed half-court.

All teams will play today. No one is happy about the situation, but some things are beyond anyone's control. The frustration is understandable for coaches, players, and fans.

Not taking anything away from Elliot Co. They are a great team, but these rankings are not what most observers would consider accurate.

Must be completely subjective. I don't think Scott got Corbin's best effort, but beating the competition they did in the Hoopin' Up certainly qualifies them to get some recognition.

I watched the KC vs Gaffney game and part of the SL vs Boyle Co. game. IMO, Gaffney got a raw deal. The game was not called equally on both ends. For example, if it was a block when KC was on "D" then it was a foul when Gaffney was on "D". The three officials were Brent Gray, Jeff Ely, and Ken Catron. I'll give you one guess as to which two officials made most of the calls that went KC's way. Don't get me wrong KC had to make shots, but they were not the better team in my opinion. Boyle was totally overmatched by SL. Officiating made no difference.

Last year doesn't matter as you can see by the way Bell dominated LC last night.

Everyone except South Floyd has a legitimate shot at winnig the CFIT. Not too often that can be said, but very true this year.

What about Russ Chadwell from the Farmer-era at Clay?

Isaac Wilson for the Redhounds. He's a tough competitor and as Isaac goes so does Corbin.

I think this will be a very interesting tourney. I like Corbin vs South Floyd in a blowout. I am predictng an upset with a Lynn Camp win vs Bell. Gaffney will give KCC all they want. They are traditonally athletic and won the South Carolina state championship four times in a row a few years ago. Boyle Co. is catching South at a bad time. South was very disappointed with their loss to Scott. I think they will respond with a victory. I think Corbin beats Lynn Camp in a game that will be closely contested for three quarters. Gaffney vs SL is the toughest pick for me. You just don't know what Gaffney will bring to the CFIT. This is very difficult but.....I'll take Gaffney in a close one. Corbin vs Gaffney in the Championship. Corbin finds its stride and wins by 3.

Classically Dorman has a good basketball program as well. We played them a couple of times when I was in high school many moons ago. You're right about the campus and the school is in a talent-rich area so I would be shocked if they weren't very competitive.

Congratulations!!! While tonight's game may not win a beauty contest it's certainly something to be proud of. South is a tough place to play, but Scott was the most consistent team in the tournament in terms of fundamentals and execution - they deserve to be the champs.
