I'm not familiar with Scott, but #5 has played really well. They look good right now. Corbin didn't play well, but a big part of that was Scott's execution and Potomac was extremely athletic so they are have a lot to be proud of.

You're exactly right the game was a hack-fest and the only solution Butler had for Manns and Crawford was to foul them. If you look at the stats you'll see that they took the majority of Corbin's free throws.

It was a good game. You're right Corbin should have won, but look at Butler's schedule and you'll see that while they are having a hard time pulling in the wins right now their competition has been very tough.

Scott was is a quality team. The Hounds would have needed to play well to win. However, it was the same team that lost to KC not the team that beat SL that showed up today. Corbin has got to develop a killer instinct and bring it every night. They were up as many as 7 pts in the 1st half before they seemed to lose focus.

You're exactly right. Miller will score his points. Staying focused on assignments and not letting the capable shooters they have get good looks is the key to beating KC.

Both teams were not at the top of their games on that particular night, but I still feel like Corbin looked flat and uninspired where as KC may not have played their best, but they still put out a tremendous effort. At the end of the day, if both teams exert the same level of intensity on a given night I think Corbin wins most of the time regardless of whether Miller is in foul trouble or not.

I agree with the fact that KC, Clay, SL, and Corbin would be a dynamite final four in the 13th region. After watching all of these teams play I would rank them in the following order: 1.Corbin 2.SL 3.KC 4.Clay I realize that KC beat Corbin, but I really believe that the Hounds played about as bad as they can. No disrepsect to KC - they won, but they didn't get Corbin's best game. With that being said, I think Corbin has all the parts to win a regional title. The question is will they play within themselves and develop a "killer instinct" when they have their opponents on their heels or will they relax mentally? I find SL very intriguing. They have something that no one else has - Matt St. John. If he stays out of foul trouble he's a game changer. No one in the region matches up with his size and ability in the paint. Combine that with Steve Wright's ability to nurture and develop a team and I don't think anyone will want to face the Cards in tournament action. KC is also a tough matchup as both Corbin and Clay found out. You better put them away if you have the chance because Miller can take over a close game in the 4th quarter. Clay is also very dangerous. They have five capable scorers in the starting lineup and they play very hard. They are a tough matchup for anyone.

If you're talking about the regional tournament this bracket is impossible as Corbin and South will be on opposite sides since they are in the same district.

I agree it is better to play this game early in the season vs. right before the post-season. However, the only reason this game was moved was to accomodate the games both teams have vs FCI Academy. Hopefully, it will become a traditional early season game.

You must be kidding!!! Kids don't play different sports for a variety of reasons, but to suggest that anyone can play basketball, soccer, or baseball is just plain silly. I guess anyone can a hit a golf ball too. That's why there are so many Tiger Woods out there.

I agree with Les. The Hounds looked good, but not great. However, I would say that the officials were more rusty than the teams. They made it even more difficult than it already is to find a flow or rhythm to an early season game. Either way, Hounds get the "W." Looking forward to matchup with Clay Co. on Tuesday.

Coach John Crawford is a former star at Corbin and Transy. He could have easily been a top head coach if he had chosen to pursue it. He brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the Hound's bench.

Here's what you get by bringing Coach Crawford in... 1. Someone who was a high school star and excellent college player as well 2. A positive influence on the bench 3. A straight-shooter 4. A person who loves and knows Corbin basketball as well as anyone 5. PASSION!!!

This game is a complete toss-up. Even Vegas has this game as a pick. Both teams are very good. One of the state's best coaches will on be on the sidelines for NCC and Campbell Field is one of the most history-rich venues in the state. I can't wait.

Williamsburg won the game a few years back. Hang your hat on that one. Do you really think that Corbin wouldn't dominate the series? After all, the Hounds defeat the Jackets more times than not in every other sport. Why would football be any different?

When the Jackets consistently produce in the regular season and the playoffs and get no credit then you may have a point. Until then you really don't have much of argument.

Corbin afraid of smaller schools? We played two of the best teams in single A - Pikeville & LCA - and beat them both.

The only reason the Hounds played Bethlehem was b/c they needed a game. Nothing more, nothing less. We only play Newport in the playoffs.

I agree that it would be good for them to play. However, I don't feel that Corbin needs the game to redeem itself for a loss a few years ago.

I personally have no problem playing Williamsburg. I just don't think Corbin needs to redeem itself for a loss to Williamsburg. If the game were take place I'm sure it would be a good one, but the Hounds have much more lofty goals than to prove their worth to an opponent who is not a playoff rival.
