This is the score I heard. All I can say is WOW. Does anyone have any details. Pretty impressive for Corbin to do this to the #6 ranked team in the state without Aaron Manns in the post.

Seems like, at least for the moment, that the 10th is more wide open than previously thought, but then again these are just scrimmages.

Corbin has a very good basketball. The final score may have been unexpected but not the final outcome...Corbin wins.

Congrats to Corbin. However, most people in the tenth region do not take into account the talent shortage of the region. Over the past several years with the exception of Mason Co. the region has been down. The talent is not the same as in past years, and the players lack the grit. I know you cannot compare different eras, but this has to be one of the worst as a whole for the tenth region. Yes, there have been two state champs, and a runner-up, but any decade prior to the current one, I highly doubt these teams make it out of the region.

Wow. Corbin is a very good team but the outcome of this shocks me.

 

Maybe EC isn't as good as some thought?? I know it's only a scrimmage but two blow out losses doesn't bode well for the Cards.

I know this was a scrimmage, but this is what I saw

Point No. 1 - Corbin's defensive pressure and team speed looked great out there and I do mean great. GRC is very athletic and Corbin matched them toe-to-toe. The Redhounds were hitting the boards as hard as I've EVER seen them.

 

Point No. 2 - The Redhounds are one of the top 10 teams in the state. Corbin is underrated and has a lot of talent. The Redhounds' starting five looked solid and their bench was solid. The scary thing is that Corbin is just going to get better and better.

 

Point No. 3 - Josh Crawford is one of the top players around. He outmuscled and outplayed anyone on GRC's team. He had one of the best moves in the second quarter that I've seen in a while. If he's not back at 100 percent, yet, then he's got to be close.

 

Point No. 4 - Coach P's addition of Coach Crawford on the bench is going to be a big plus. Coach P did a GREAT job out there today and coach Crawford really fires the team up. He is a solid coach and is a BIG plus for Corbin. Coach West and McDaniel are also solid, too.

 

Point No. 5 - Madison Johnson had a solid game and so did Isaac Wilson and I was really impressed with the way Blake Hendrickson played. He went to the basket STRONG. Actually, everyone on Corbin looked good.

 

Point No. 6 - I know it's just a scrimmage, but Corbin matched GRC in every part of the game and to be honest, the Redhounds are way better than their statewide ranking in one state preview I read.

 

Point No. 7 - I was really impressed with a couple of GRC's players and I thought Corbin did a good job on No. 41, who never really got any thing flowing.

 

Point No. 8 - This could be the best team Corbin has had in a long time. I'm anxious for the season to begin.

Nice recap Les. I look for Corbin to have a great year this year and hope they do.:thumb:Not sure who #41 was...did they wear practice jerseys? Cards got off to a slow start last season... and ended up 22-8, looks like the same this year. Coach will have the Cards ready come post season.

Agreed...Clark will get better but so will Corbin when it gets all of its players which adds depth to the bench. Manns, Hopkins, Watkins and others will make Corbin a much deeper team.

I have to agree. Since 2004 the tenth as a whole has been way down. 2002 the region was very strong top to bottom.

It might be a pre-season game, but I sure wouldn't like for my two scrimmages to be 20-plus losses after getting a pre-season No. 6 state ranking.:thumb:
