Corbin had a big lead and almost let the Knights come back and steal the game. :ylsuper:

Catholic started out 7-0 before the Hounds turned it on. Corbin led by 16 late in the 3rd quarter before Catholic made an impressive rally. The Knights cut it to 1 or 2 with extended pressure. Corbin was able to hang on for the win. Josh Crawford led Corbin with 20 and was followed by Madison Johnson (19), and Josh Smith (15). Vee Sanford led Catholic with 21 but the Freshman Beckham was the one that stood out to me. I think the radio said he had 11. Good win for Corbin as they start to hit the heart of region play.

Corbin built a 16 point lead and held on down the stretch for the win. Lex Catholic's pressure did not hurt Corbin too much until the last 3-4 minutes of the game and the last couple of minutes of the 3rd period when Corbin was trying to rest Crawford and Wilson.

 

Crawford led Corbin with 20, Johnson had 19, Smith 15, Wilson 11, Manns 8 and L. Crawford 2 as the Hounds distributed the ball well today. Lex Cath was led by Sanford who had 21.

Corbin was up by 15 early in the forth quarter and was able to withstand a great come back effort by Lexington Catholic. Great defense by both teams. Corbin was able to beat the LC press most of the game by moving J. Crawford up to help handle the press.

A lot of work went into a 7-0 lead for Corbin. I think that there was under five minutes to go when Lexington Catholic finally scored their first points.

Lexington Catholic then made a little run to close the score to 9-7 Corbin.

Nice win for Corbin against one of the 11th's better squads.

In the Coach's post game interview, their was several references to Lexington Catholic being ranked #5 in the state. What rankings is that?

Yea, you are right. They were sayin on the radio that it was the opposite of the South Laurel game from the other night where SL jumped out to a 7-0 lead.

Great game to watch!

IMO...... 1. The better team won

2. LC is very well coached, a really good team on defense

3. If Corbin can get out of the 13th, and get a good draw for the sweet 16,

could be playing on Sat. morning in Rupp

4. #32 for LC is a really good player, who didn't get enough shots for them

5. Looked like a good called game

6. Sanford has alot of tools, but could play more intense, seems to laid back to

me.

7. Madison Johnson is developing into a big time talent, sometimes streaky but

plays through it until something good happens, his dunk was nice!

That is a big win for Corbin and also has to do a lot for the confidence. Congrats Corbin and Coach P.
