  1. Ashland will bounce back they are a good team with a good coaching staff. Ashland will have to do a better job at controling the line of scrimmage if they want to beat Johnson Central for the district title, because as everyone knows JC is going to run, run, and then run some more. Congrads to Ironton, and good luck to Ashland you will be a better team for playing the lkes of Ironton IMO.
  2. I am willing to bet that Highlands fills their schedule with Wins in 2011.
  3. Bartender, I'll have what he is having. Please step away from the keyboard/cell phone. Don't you know you can be suspended for posting under the influence?
  4. Very exciting hard hitting football game last night. Sheldon Clark has played a brutal schedule for an Eastern Kentucky AAA football team and it is starting to show. Lawrence Co. is a good football team that should win their distrct this year. Despite their record Sheldon Clark is one of the best AAA football teams in the state. If they can stay injury free and continue to get better they will be a tough out come playoffs.
  5. Sheldon Clark is one of the best AAA football teams in the state. That game being close is no surprise to anyone close to the SC program. Knox is better than most think. Cooper I can't really speak for.
  6. This could be a good game. I think Johnson Central is capabale of pulling the upset, but they will have to execute well. The Eagles moved the ball well last year and will have to do so this year to have a chance. I still think Bell is the favorite in this one, but the Eagles can sure make a game out of it. Good luck to both.
  7. I think Pike County Central has come a LONG way since Chapman has shown up, but I still think that Pike Central is a little behind Sheldon Clark and Belfry right now. After watching all 3 teams play more than once (mostly on film) I think SC is a little ahead of Belfry who is a little ahead of Pike Central. It is hard to compare teams on film when they are not playing equally talented opponets, but that is the way I see it. I can see all 3 of these teams splitting the regular season and making for a mess come playoff time, or I can see any 1 team taking all the matchups. It will be a very exciting year for AAA Region 4 with Sheldon Clark, Mason County, Belfry, and Pike County Central all in the hunt I can tell you that.
  8. I think Ryle has turned the corner this year, but I also think they have a few more blocks to go before they can challange St. X or Trinity. I still think 6A is a 2 horse race night in night out, but if Trinity or St X. have multiple turnovers I can see Ballard or Ryle pulling the upset with a great game. Good luck Ryle I am pulling for you.
  9. Frankfort was a talented football team that was capable of big plays at any time, but Sheldon Clark absolutely dominated this game. I would be willing to bet that Frankfort only had 5 - 7 first downs the entire game. Frankfort's only scores came on a SC turnover deep in their own territory and a 95 yard TD pass on 3rd & long. Aside from those plays Frankfort was bottled up and knocked around most of the night. Defensively the Panther's stacked the line and tried to slow down the SC rushing attack by bringing a lot of people. It slowed down the Cardinals at times, but also led to some big runs when the backs found daylight. Overall good game by both teams. Frankfort is capable of playing deep into the A playoffs IMO.
  10. Lawrence County should be ashamed. It was not that long ago that they were sitting at 0 - 10. They were on the wrong end of several blow outs and now they are taking other smaller teams to the woodshed. A lack of class by what I had always thought was a classy coaching staff. There is no reason to hang 75 on the scoreboard. Lawrence will continue to feast on their soft schedule until the playoffs when they face teams like Knox Co. & Bell Co. then it will be famine.
  11. This will be a big game for the Cardinals. First home game and still looking for that first victory. If SC drops this one it could be a whle before they pick up that first Win. If Sheldon Clark does not come out to play they could find themselves on the short end of the stick once again. Frankfort has some great athletes and will be a good test for the boys from Martin County.
  12. St. X Highlands Sheldon Clark Belfry Hazard Mason Co. Danville Henry Clay Pulaski Co. Estill Co. TB : 45
  13. Ok we get it. You feel like Rockcastle is being overlooked. I think Rock may be flying under the radar some, but with the game at Danville I will go with Coach Harp and the boys. Good luck to both.
  14. Not even close. BJ Moore at Sheldon Clark is the best player in the region. Johnson Central has a big kid named Parker and when he gets it going watch out, but he is up and down most of the time.
  15. Congrads to the Tomcats. Greenup must be much improved. If Ashland wants to win a district championship (and play Highlands 1 week later in the playoffs) they had better get that run defense cleaned up. I saw an awfully impressive running team in Paintsville last night run all over a good Boyle Co. defense.
  16. I think that some of the top ranked teams were ranked more on the name on the jersey and not the players wearing them IMO. Not saying there is anything wrong with taking tradition into consideration, just think some normal big name teams have come back to the pack recently.
  17. Kind of shocked at this one. Congrads to Danville.
  18. Congrads Bulldogs. Probabley should have upgraded the schedule a little, but a win always beats a loss.
  19. Well after all the talk I heard about how good the Boyle Co. defense was and that the linebackers were all first team all state I was surprised to see JC show up. Let alone move the football all over the field like they did. A good game that could have went either way. Johnson Central is a good football team and will give problems to any team they play. Cramps played a big part in this game. Congrads to the Rebels.
  20. I did not say they would score them all on teh Boyle defense. I will say the JC offense puts 2 TDs on them though.
  21. I think that Boyle County is the overall better football team between these 2, but I think that JC has been chomping at the bits for this one. The Eagles will be one of the better teams that Boyle will see this year untill the playoffs. The key for JC is to keep the football from the Rebels and eat the clock. I like the Eagles chances in this one with Matney having a chip on his shoulder because of last years game. I am going to call for the upset in Paintsville. Boyle County: 21 Johnson Central: 23
  22. I know that Mason County, Sheldon Clark, Somerset, Belfry, Breathitt County, and Pike Central are thrilled to hear you say so. Now they can quit worrying about it.
  23. Do you think Davis is heading UK's way?
  24. Boyle @ Johnson Central will be the biggest game in week 0 IMO. I think Prestonsburg @ Belfry & Sheldon Clark @ Martha Layne Collins will be 2 exciting games. If either of these games are decided by more that 1 score I will be surprised.
  25. Not poking fun at uk#1fan but that post made me laugh out loud.
