Congrats to LC they are a very good football team and I wish them luck throughout the rest of the playoffs!

By the way, this games gets a little harder after we had to dismiss two starters today for team a rules violation. Both starters 1 Sr and 1 Jr. That makes a total of 7 starters out for us right now. 3 of them started on offense and 5 of them started on defense. But, the way I look at it is this. If you are a good team you play through bad times and find ways to win. Our JV team had a winning season this year so the kids (all freshmen and sophmores) that we have asked to step up in these positions are use to being winners and we expect them to play like it. I can't wait until Friday Night under the Lights, man I love high school football!:banana:

I'll be the first to second that Pepper. That's the attitude that has helped this team get to a 7-3 record. Remember the dictionary is the only place that success comes before work!

I disagree with you, I think Edmonson is a very good team and so is Wayne Co. Lynn Camp is hard hitting power team that has a very tough schedule. Most of everyone in 4-A would meet with the same fate as McCreary if they were playing KC, RC or Bell in their district. Make sure you notice that I said MOST not all, there are a few 4-A teams that would play them closer and maybe a couple or three that might be able to swing a win on 2 of them and the list gets shorter when you talk about Bell. If you want to gauge us by those three games go ahead but if you talk with the coaches of those teams they will tell you that McCreay came to play and hits as hard as anyone. Oh yea and I believe MC's jv beat the jumpers this year if I am not mistaken so the future is looking brighter as well! Pepper II Quote: Knox Central put up 30 points on you on that same wet field. Wonder what they would do on a dry field? It is no secret that MC utilizes speed and quickness on offense and the sloppy field was not in our favor. With that being said it was still just a 7 point game at half time. I never said that McCreary would stop KC from scoring because KC has one heck of a power offense (which by the way the sloppy conditions favor) but I do think it would be a much close game and one that McCreary would possibly be in position to win at the end depending on turn-overs, penalties and special teams play. But hey we may never know and then again we might find out in another week but first we both have a couple of very good teams to deal with so for now let's just concentrate on that! You know papagrit as well as I do we have a history of imploding but haven't had to deal with it too much this season. We are happy that our defense has improved over the last couple of weeks but is it enough is the question. We tend to be our own worse enemies at times. I would really love another shot at KC with some better field conditions just for some peace of mind but 1st we have a very, very good LC team to deal with and the military has lended them a tank to use as a fullback. All we can do is work hard this week take a 3 day drive and play as hard as we can for 48 min. If we do that we will be in the game at the end and win or lose LC will know who the Raiders are. Anything less than our A-game and we will be in for a rough game. But, I can say the same for LC. I hope both teams play their best injury free football game and the winner is the winner and we all shake hands and move on to what is next! PS, Good luck to your Rockets papagrit although, if we both win it will kind of change the way we look at who really won and lost the MC-RC game!

Well, you don't ever replace a Roark or Watts but we do have some very athletic yougsters that wuill develop into some very good football players if they work hard in the off season. Actually we return 3 kids who run faster than either of them. I think we will improve the line play because of an extra year of work (if they work in the off-season). The key position for us will be QB but we will have an entire year to figure it out. I hope the youngsters learn from this group of uper-classmen because it was the dedication to the off-season that has us where we are at. If they wouldn't have been dedicated in Dec - July we would be lucky to be 2-8 right now (maybe 3-7). I guess only time will tell!

#1 seed Lawrence County will host #4 seed McCreary County. Lawrence County is 10-0 having a remarkable turn around season and McCreary is 7-3 which is the 1st winning season in their history. This has the makings of a good game but McCreary has cracked under the preasure of the big game this year against Rock, Knox and of course Bell. I think if MC can stay focused and they play smart and aggressive football they will make this a very interesting game. Now, lets here everyone's thoughts.

No, but he had 70 give or take on that 4th quarter TD run. He is a heck of a back and that #1 was a load. After watching film we felt that you guys and Lawrence County were a lot alike and that this game would really help us prepare for them.

Roark had 139 yards on 30 carries, Watts had 168 yards on 18 carries and he had around 100 yards on special teams including a KO return for a TD for around 60 yards. He was 4-10 passing for 52 yards. We has 2 other people run 31 yards on 6 carries. So it looks like we had 390 yards total offense!

I promise we will do our best to help KC play at home in round 2. Now remember, all I said was "I promise we will do our best!":D

I wish I could have watched this game, I played against Bethel Tate as a high school player in the old Clermont County League (CCL). When I saw their name on here it brought back some old but very good memories! There is nothing better than high school football under those FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!

Hey papgrit I threw a vote your way this time, tit for tat! I have a good friend or two who coaches at Whitley Co and they are a very good football team. You guys just need to play physical from the start and try to put yourself in a position to win at the end. Good Luck!

Congradulations to Knox Central!

Another question, is the 1st flag on the sideline always a warning, the 2nd 5 yards and the 3rd 15 yards or can the 1st go straight to 15 yards skipping all other steps. This was a sideline penalty no warning given and they marked it off 15 yards!

Maybe one of our BGP officials can shed some light on this!

Will someone please clarify this because we had a 5 yard facemask penalty called as well and we thought the same thing.:confused:

I didn't crown them anything, I simply said they were my pick at this point. I have great respect for Coach French and have been watching Boyle win state championships for 20 years! On a lighter note don't be so sensitive when someone says they think someone other than Boyle might win it all because it is just their opinion! Anyway if the two teams play in the semi's I will be there to watch and I am sure it will be a great game!
