  1. I am confused (which isn't unordinary for me) but I thought there was serious talk about going to 5 classes next year 2011? According to this thread we will be staying with 6 classes until atleast 2014? Someone please give me the facts about what class system we will be using in the near future. Thank you in advance!
  2. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. However facts are facts. McCreary has came from playing in no district to the toughest 4-A district in the state and have their toughest out-of-district schedule ever (not saying it is even close to the toughest in the state) and you have to crawl before you walk, walk before you run and run before you sprint. McCreary is on the right track and I truely believe that they will continue to grow and become more competitive as time goes on. McCreary County has a lot of good athletes and good football players and they have the desire to win. They also have good coaches who will instill a solid work ethic that will help them continue to get better and as they get better their strength of schedule will continue to increase. I'm not sure but I think that is how you build a program, someone correct me if I'm wrong but please don't break my heart! LoL, just couldn't help it!
  3. I agree with with you cellking, every team looses good and even great players from year to year and McCreary is no different. This Raider team is full of talent and a big offense of line that knows how to open holes. These kids know how to win and are very capable and in my opinion will demonstrate that this Friday night in Cardinal country. I will take the Raiders by 14. Pack your lunch buckets boys and go to work! Go get'em Guys!
  4. I agree TM, it should be a good game and one that McCreary should win hands down with the talent they have (I hear Tyson Williams will be ready for this game) and as good as the offense has been moving the ball. Last week in the 1st half McCreary held 2 to 1 the time of possession and marched down the field at will. The key to victory will be holding on to the ball and geting into the endzone and making some stops defensively. I know the coaching staff will be working this week on ball handling and definsive skill sets in order to get ready for this game so I will be excited to see my Raiders step up and play as I know they can. This is a very talented bunch of kids who are very capable of winning this football game. Go get'em guys! PS, glad to here from you Banker where have you been?

  7. I don't know the situation at Scott but I do know for a 100% positive that dropping football (or any H.S. sport) is never the answer. Everyone involved should sit down together and workout what needs to be done to help the situation just like any group does when they are struggling with something. Communication by all parties is key to fixing any problem and the next step is give and take which means support for the coaches from the administrators and also support for the administrators from the coaches. It all boils down to how bad does the whole group want to see football get better. IMHO!
  8. I was at this game, the score was 14-0 at the half and could have easily been 14-7 in McCreary's favor. McCreary owned time of possesion as they marched the ball up and down the field at will. Again they were hampered by turnovers but they still made great improvements from last week. The defense look better as well but still has some work to do but I am confident that they will get there. The second half everything started to break down a little and I think it had to do with fatigue plus some frustration. McCreary was still moving the ball on offense just not quite as well as in the first half. I don't think the score paints a proper picture of the game and I think if the Raiders make as much improvement between week 2 and 3 as they did between week 1 and 2 they will pick up their first win against Wayne Co. next Friday. Keep working hard Raiders and it will pay-off. Go get'em guys!

  15. It was definately a rough start for my Raiders but there was some positives. There was some good adjustments made during the game that gave the kids some confidence that they can move the ball. The Raiders went into an offense that allowed them to attack the line of scrimmage and Pineville could not stop them. They did however stop themselves by fumbling twice and throwing an interception but those things are an easy fix. The Raiders biggest weakness right now is tackling, they had way to many missed tackles but that is also fixable. I have 100% confidense that these guys can play winning football and 100% confidence that the coaching staff is more than capable of getting them there. I have known these kids for most of their lives and I know they have the heart and the ability to win and I have known Coach Smith since he was a Raider football player and I know he has the tools to be an outstanding coach and I also have known the rest of his staff for a long time and have worked/coached with most of them in the past and they are very good coaches. I have all the confidence in the world that they will pull this thing together and find success this season. I hope all the Raider fans out there get behind these guys and support them with everything they have and Raiders will get it done. Go raiders!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. It's getting close to the season opener and I am getting excited. I talk to the kids everyday and they are pumped-up and ready. Go get'em guys!

  19. Prayers for the family and GRC from McCreary County may God bless and comfort you all!
  20. I don't think you can ever count out the Rock and smaller doesn't mean weaker. One of the best teams in the country averages 185 lbs on the offensive line (or atleast at one time they did). So just because the Rocks line is smaller doesn't mean they can't be a better unit than last years line. I say the Rock edges this one out by 6 points. That one is for you papapgrit, good luck!
  21. McCreary and Pineville both open up this weekend lets here your thoughts about this game. I think with a good week of practice the Raiders will come out confident and take the game to Pineville. The Raiders still have a lot of talent in their skill players and 6-8 upperclassmen that have started for a couple of years. The new coaching staff has been in place since January and they have put it place a good off season program which led to a good spring session and they are making the adjustments necessary to be ready come Friday. I think the Raiders will win this one by 2 TD's.
