Indoor Practice Facilities
Again, I don't disagree with what you are saying but since you are getting into the educational field you will find out that it is not always that simple and that everything isn't always black and white! You may want to use money for one thing but since it was given to the school system in a certain catagory of use it has to be used for that purpose. If the Superintendant or principal spends it on anything else they would be legally liable for misuse of funds which could cost them their career! I am telling you things are not always as simple as they appear or even as they should be when it comes to the business of education! Just my .02!

McCreary Central/Rockcastle County Predictions
As for the Rockcastle game this Friday, we know they are a great program with tons of tradition and Friday night will be a very difficult task against a program that I have respected for many years. I consider it an honor to lead my kids to battle on the gridiron against teams like Rock, Bell and Knox and look forward to the day where the MCHS Raiders are talked about in the same circle as these programs and let me tell you it is coming, only time will tell how soon! All I can say for now is, I coach to win and our players work hard everyday in practice to win and on Friday night we are going to travel about 60 minutes north with every intensions of winning because we believe we can! Pack your lunches Raiders and punch your time card because it is time to go to work! By the way we are in the demolition business and we love are work! Is it Friday yet?..........Man I can't wait because I love me some Friday night football!

So is Roark, Watts and Stephens!- High School Football / Big Blue Madness?
I think I will go to McCreary Co's football game on Friday but that's just me!- Indoor Practice Facilities
Any time money is spent for the benifit of the kids it is not only justified but money well spent! Period! End of discussion!- McCreary Central/Rockcastle County Predictions
They concern me too brother! However I have to say the backups played outstanding in the MS game. i couldn't really tell that we had made a change I hope the backups perform as well tomorrow night!- McCreary Central/Rockcastle County Predictions
The 6' 5" 310lbs Jr right tackle is out for the year (torn acl and mcl). the 6' 5" 28olbs senior is out for two weeks but should be back for senior night against Lynn Camp! The Jr linebacker that was out Friday with a shoulder injury returned to practice today along with a sophmore LB/DL/OL who has been out due to a shoulder injury as well. So we are still not at full strength but as we lost a couple we got a couple back and at this point in the season we will take what we can get!- McCreary Central/Rockcastle County Predictions
You are correct about that but we did close the gap slightly today with one of our best practices of the year in very miserable weather. I have never seen the kids work so hard I was very proud of their efforts!- Somerset/Wayne County Predictions
I think Somerset will win this game but I do know that Wayne Co fields a very tough team who will give it all they got so the bunnies better not take it to lightly. Coach Thompson is a very good coach who will have his team ready to play! Good luck to both teams.- How do you rate your teams strength of schedule?
No, you have to BEAT the best to be the best! Anyone can play the best! But we all knew what you meant!:thumb:- McCreary Central/Rockcastle County Predictions
At this moment the score is McCreary 0 Rockcastle 0! See ya Friday night papagrit!- Pick 10 Contest Week #9
5 George Rogers Clark 3 Johnson Central 3 Harrison County 1 Warren Central 1 Valley 1 Apollo 1 Newport 1 Greenwood 1 Ryle 1 Seneca Tiebreaker 39- Woodford County/Johnson Central Predictions
I think my good friend Coach Matney will lead his team to another win. JC 42-14. Tell Johnny I said hey and Rock you have a good game! Anyone killed a deer yet?- Bell County 49 Soddy Daisy,TN 6
So, I guess everyone is correct. Soddy is both 3-A and 6-A which doesn't change the fact that this was a very good win for Bell Co against a very good out of state team. Way to go Bobcats and way to win one for Ky!:thumb:- McCreary County 46 Madison Southern 27
This is correct, I guess you had the Answer!- Knox Central 21 Rockcastle County 20
Anything dealing with math isn't a piece of cake for me, I teach English!- Knox Central 21 Rockcastle County 20
Well, here I go opening my big mouth so everyone from KC and Bell can jump on here and hammer me! But..............pepper you are not actually correct with this statement. McCreary has only lost one district game which means that KC hasn't actually locked in 2nd place yet. Now before everyone gets all excited about that statement remember I am talking about mathmatics here. I think I am smart enough to know that MC would have to win out against a very good Rockcastle team and a very, very good Bell team (maybe there should have been one more very in there) to put it in a 3 way tie and even though that may not be probable it is still mathmatically possible( I think the tie breaker then would be win/loss record.....I think). Please don't be to hard on me guys, what kind of coach would I be if I didn't have all the confidence in the world for my team. All I can say is Raiders pack your lunch and lets go to work we have a very hard job a head of us! If we work as hard as we can and play as hard as we can putting fourth our best effort then no one can take that away from us! Congradulations KC on a very good win!- McCreary County 46 Madison Southern 27
I am not sure on this one all I can say is they both had a bunch. Watts had more than a bunch when counting all purpose yards. When I get some official stats I will let you know! As for the game, well the first half our defense played "flat" ! Just lidding, we didn't tackle well though. We preached not tackling high and that big hits would not knock down good running backs and they didn't listen to well so MS's offense out played our defense in the first half. At half-time I sat the defense down and had a nice quiet conversation with them and that seem to work ! We played much better "D" in the 2nd half but far from what I would consider good defense. However, we have gotten better each week but didn't rise to the level needed in week 5! This is a great win and I am proud of our players they have worked very hard for this and I give them the credit and I give all the glory to God! 6-1 first ever winning record at McCreary Central great job to everyone who is working hard in the football program from the bottom to the top!- That Flat Excuse
I disagree because sometimes it is hard to gather or gain that emotion within the course of a game. I think some coaches use playing flat as a term to indicate that their team didn't play to their full potential and I am not sure I agree with that or not and that is why I always just say "we didn't bring our A-game"!- Corbin Knott Central updates
I guess Corbin is fluffed up again. Probably caused by a swift kick in the butt at half time by Coach Jewel!- Corbin Knott Central updates
:thumb:- That Flat Excuse
This is true but if a team knows that they are a huge underdog going into the game and just goes through the motions themselves then it doesn't matter if the favored team is flat or not. Take the Corbin/Knott game going on right now, if Knott would have just went through the motions it would not be a 2 point game at the half and no would really now that Corbin is playing "flat" so I do think the other team has something to do with it just not in a direct way. I mean the other team isn't the reason they are playing with no intensity or them not being focused but they still have a hand in it in a round about way. IMHO!- That Flat Excuse
Originally Posted by Voice of Reason I often hear "They were flat" when someone describes a loss. Personally, I think "flat" is just an excuse for when you really got your butt kicked. It isn't because they are "flat". They don't work because the team they are playing is better. Those open holes and blocks that were easy all year suddenly aren't there and the loser just can't admit the other team might be better. So they say they were "flat". I find it almost laughable when there is a big, hyped game and the losing team says "we were flat". That is bull. So what does everyone else think? How does a team ever come out "flat" for a big game? Or is "flat" just an easy excuse when you don't want to admit the other team is better? Have you guys checked out the score of the Corbin/Knott game? Corbin is only winning by 2 at the half. I think this give a legetimate view to a team playing flat. Now I agree that some coaches/fans/teams use this as a cop out but it also happens sometimes so it isn't always a cop out. Also, Knott came to play so they are still part of the reason this game is only seperated by 2 points at the half but I think everyone can agree that if Corbin wasn't playing sub-par (flat if you will) this would not be a 2 point game at the half! Just my two-cents! - McCreary Central/Rockcastle County Predictions
