Congrats to Bell Co. I don't know much about Soddy Daisy except the they have been pretty good in past years. I agree big win especially against a 6A school from Tennessee.

Soddy Daisy High School. Cool name but not a very good team it looks like. Way to go BCHS. Love it when we beat out of state teams. I've seen alot of it this year. I've seen wins vs WV, Oh, Ind, Il, and Tn teams I'm sure there is more. It should be a post. Again great job.

Soddy Daisy was an impressive looking team. They were big, had some speed in the skill postions and 90+ players including 25 seniors. QB was impressive (2 time all-state in TN.) but could not get his feet set long enough to throw the ball. The Bell front 7 players kept the preasure on all night, sacking and hurrying the QB on nearly every play.

Soddy Daisy was an impressive looking team. They were big, had some speed in the skill postions and 90+ players including 25 seniors. That is what it looked like to me also. I know that they had one big pass play all night.

For those interested, Soddy Daisy is a 3a team, not a 6a team. They are a pretty solid team though. The Bell Co win was an impressive one, regardless of class. SD only had a 3-3 record coming in but 2 of those losses were to undefeated teams and they played them close. Ooltawah(7-0) is a highly ranked 3a team and one of Soddys losses, 21-14. That same Ooltawah team knocked off Franklin, Tn 19-3 and also beat a solid Austin East team. For those of you not familiar with Franklin, that's the same team that destroyed Fern Creek and Christian Co this year, so, the fact Soddy Daisy played Ooltawah that close is impressive. The other loss was to Red Banks(7-0), a Top 5 2a team, 44-30. That same Red Banks team beat an outstanding Boyd Buchanan team a few weeks ago.

 

I know it's hard to compare scores, but, the way Bell Co handled Soddy while that same team fought tooth and nail against some very impressive Tn teams, is saying alot.

 

Just thought I'd throw this info out there to give you an idea about what type competition Soddy was.

Good post UK. Soddy is a cool name and they are a good team. Because "we" beat them doesn't mean there "not a very good team it looks like". Bell played exceptional defense against them. The secondary had the coverage clamped down on those receivers and gave our line time to sack or hurry the QB. Their running game was all but useless against our D-line.

They have change there classes in TN if you will check and they are a big school. I think tha people are going by the old one. They are classed by into 3 but there are 2 in each. Who really care they beat a very big school in TN impressively.

Actually the class they play in hasn't changed...What they did was put 1a and 2a and some smaller 3a together, bigger 3a, 4a and 5a together for district purposes only...They then split those districts into there actual classes for the playoffs...In other words, a district game may be with a team in a different class, but, could help you get an atlarge bid... They did this to help geographically and save on some of the long district drives they had...
