  1. Walton will take this game and go 2-0 on the year. Daugherty will through for atleast two td's and taylor will run atleast one. Walton-21 Bearea-7
  2. I think Walton can role with Bellevue, Ludlow, and Dayton. Maybe even Beechwood, if they play their best game and Beechwood plays bad. Walton will definitely get a playoff berth if you ask me, and thats not just because I played there. These kids work harder than any team I have seen. I have been to some practices and they don't give up.
  3. Wow. I never thought that would be the outcome. Good news for Dixie. Although Beechwood is still a major force for any 1A school, but i think there may be a team or two that if they have amazing games and Beechwood doesn't play well, they could be beat. Not likely to happen, just a slight possibility.
  4. I think the size of owen county will pose a factor. I give the win to owen county unless Jones and Maddox combine for big numbers. OC-63 GC-58
  5. Not close at all as expected. Didn't see the game but didn't sound like it went good for Walton. Walton just couldn't match up with Gabbard, McFarland, or Popp. Better luck next time WV.
  6. Williamstown by 15+ I don't think Walton will be able to stop Vice in the post or Anglin on the outside. Expect good numbers from both players. Walton on the other hand has a floor of great shooters, and they better be hitting or it will be a long night. As well as that Williamstown has way more experience than this young Walton team. Can't wait to see this one. Over the summer I recall there being a little tussle between these two teams in a scrimmage. Should be interesting watching how these players control themselves, in the past it has not been good between these two teams. See you there.
  7. When you give up 19 points to a player that is not that great of a shooter and not that experienced at the varsity, is not good. Walton did do good at containing Maddox and Jones. When you hold a teams two best players to only thirteen points and don't win. Then there is a problem. This Walton team has plenty of good defenders and can't give up that many points to a player that shouldn't even be getting ten points total. Good job GC, good luck next time Walton.
  8. I take GC in this one. Thompson will be hard to stop for the pioneers. GC-64 SK-58
  9. They need size. Which they don't have. They also need to take better care of the ball. They need to be better conditioned than every team they play because they will never outsize a team. As someone said earlier they will need to shoot a lot of threes and you live and die on the three, so they will have to shoot a lot in practice.
  10. Which players are you talking about? Who quit and who was hurt?
  11. You would think that, but that wasn't the case. I not saying every junior last year was amazing, but there were a few whom should have played a whole lot more than they got. In game situations if they messed up once they would be out for the rest of the game. Just because their last name wasn't Ponzer or Sullivan. Don't take me wrong they are both very good athletes and ball players but Coach Bennett didn't care about the juniors and thats why they have no seniors now.
  12. Dustin Cottrell is strong for only being six one though. He doesn't like to bang with the big boys either. He would rather stay out of the paint and shoot. Although he is a beast on the boards.
  13. The reason they have no seniors is the coaching. Last year many of the juniors, now seniors, got played over by some of the sophmores that weren't better. It isn't crazy, its coaching problems.
  14. I think Walton will be able to defend the A-11 pretty well. I think Walton takes this one to end the season .500 which is a great first year for the Walton program. Good Luck Cats. Walton-22 Trimble-0
  15. I think its a combination of all three. But mostly it was the poor offense, neither team moved the ball very well and had to rely on there defenses. Walton had a one of the best defensive halfs this year in the first half. Although the second half was a bit different. The backs for GC did what ever they wanted and just out played the Bearcat defense. The Bearcats got a break when GC fumbled the ball on the one yard line but failed to get a drive going. I would like to see these teams play again without a weather factor. If so I think Walton would be the winner by a long shot. The Bearcats didn't show the heart that they have showed every game so far this year and that will not win games. Best of luck to both teams next week. GC plays BB. Walton has their senior night next week as they play Pikeville.
  16. I say that the Wildcat defense will not be enough to stop the speed and power of the backs of Walton. I think Walton will be able to run the ball all night. Walton has more players and should keep everyone fresh. I take Walton in this one. Walton-27 GC-12
  17. Hard faught game as expected. Walton dug thereselves to big of a hole in the first half and just came up a little short. They stepped there game up in the second half. But still a really great game for both teams. Good luck to both next week.
  18. They have several talented young players. They have sophmores Brandon Brockman and Vance Sullivan. Even a freshman that I think will get good varsity minutes this year is Dustin Cotrell. He is a monster on the boards and can shoot well for his size, both inside and out. They also have Jordan Ponzer who is a pretty good PG as well as a shooter. They will definately need to run every team out of the gym because they will never have the upper hand in size.
  19. Colton McIntyre. He isn't the best LB in NKY but he is a playmaker and often the swing player in every game for the WV Bearcats. He has two interceptions returned for td's and is the leader of the team. If only he had not went to a school who didn't have football til his junior year he could be a big time player, bigger than he already is.
