Gallatin goes to 2-1 with the victory. Bryce Carlton (19 points) and Shane Williamson (17) both posted career highs. Trent Maddox had 11, Travis Davis 9, Jesse Walker 4, and Zac Jones 2. I believe Ponzer led W-V with 18.

Sounds like the game was about what most people on the predictions thread thought it would be. I'm glad Walton played with them and were able to contain Maddox and Jones- what they needed to do. It just happened that two other players stepped up. Good job GC and good luck. Good job WV as well- how did the game go and who else for WV played well?

I think WV won both the JV and Freshman games. Pretty convincingly, from what I see on WV's sports site.

I was there for the JV game and it was ugly. WV won, but really, both teams looked sloppy. An ugly win is still a win though. Congrats to the WV JV players.

Seemed to me that he played very well. Made several shots from the top of the key. Looks like the kid is gonna be a good player if he keeps at it.:thumb:

I didn't think Sullivan had one of his better games. He wasn't hitting his shots like he usually does. But it is hard to get good open shots when Waltons coach has ran the same offense for many years. Every team they play knows every play they run and it would be nice if the coach would change the offense up. It is to easy to guard Walton. And need some Changes with something.:eek:

WV will be fine. It is just three games into the season. They are still young. They will figure out their roles, and it will be okay.

I agree, I saw them play against Cooper, and while Cooper may not have been the strongest team, WV has some good, young, talented kids. Once these kids mature a little and figure out how to play and win, they will be fine.

I agree with you. However, since they have no seniors and play alot of underclassmen, this season will be a learning experience and hopefully they will take whatever successes that come their way and build on it.

When you give up 19 points to a player that is not that great of a shooter and not that experienced at the varsity, is not good. Walton did do good at containing Maddox and Jones. When you hold a teams two best players to only thirteen points and don't win. Then there is a problem. This Walton team has plenty of good defenders and can't give up that many points to a player that shouldn't even be getting ten points total. Good job GC, good luck next time Walton.

How big is Sullivan. I remember him being pretty thin. Has he beefed up any?

Gallatin has never been about getting one or two guys their points, they are about getting the ball to the open man and move without the basketball. Refs shut down Jones - he did not play most of the game.
