They are going to be young and inexperienced. They have no real size or inside game, so they better work on conditioning and try to run the opponents out of the gym. They will have to play an up-tempo game and shoot alot of 3's. Problem is, you live and die by the 3's. The coaches also need to ensure that everyone is on the same page in order to avoid some of the player attitude problems that surfaced last year. They will be a work in progress and it will probably take a couple of years to rebuild as long as everyone can stay on the same page. The 08-09 team should be fun to watch and hopefully the younger players will learn and improve without getting down on themselves. The coaches will have to do alot of nuturing and teaching knowing that the payoff will possibility be a couple of years down the road. Good luck to the Bearcats.

In talking to Coach Bennett at Rupp, he is very encouraged by what he has coming back this next year. He mentioned many of the younger players from the freshman team as well as JV that will be moving up. They will have to work hard, but the varsity experience they will get next year will definately help them in the long run.

Jordan Ponzer and Vance Sullivan should be a couple of good building blocks for next season.

Heard that Ponzor is going to Simon Kenton, any truth to that? He is a qualtiy young player in the 8th, overall the 8th has several young impressive soph's

The Bearcats will definately be young and inexperienced. I say this is definately a building year. They have no seniors and only a handful of Juniors. This year the coaches need to work on getting his younger kids experience at the varsity level and look ahead for a good squad next year.

What are the names of the talented younger players on Walton's team. I seem to remember Sullivan was a good young player last year, and I heard the last name Brockman around. Any info on these players and how they played this summer?

They have several talented young players. They have sophmores Brandon Brockman and Vance Sullivan. Even a freshman that I think will get good varsity minutes this year is Dustin Cotrell. He is a monster on the boards and can shoot well for his size, both inside and out. They also have Jordan Ponzer who is a pretty good PG as well as a shooter. They will definately need to run every team out of the gym because they will never have the upper hand in size.

Ponzer will be the focal point of Walton, and Sul. will be a major roll in the offense. I would be less concerned about them scoring but rebounding and playing defense. I think it will be and up and down year for the bearcats.

They have quality guards, but who else do they have to go along with Cottrell as far as size? Should be interesting. Can they beat Simon Kenton, or will that be done next year? Can they beat Gallatin this year?

I don't see them coming close to Simon but may play Gallatin close. They are just to young (no seniors) and lack size and experience. Hopefully, they will make this year a learning experience and build on it.

Yes

Should be very fundamentaly sound

How big is Cottrell? This team sounds very young, but hopefully they can use this year to gain experience and surprise some teams. No seniors at all? Thats crazy!
