Tough defense, poor offense, lousy weather, or a combination (my first guess)?

 

First two would fit the night.

I think its a combination of all three. But mostly it was the poor offense, neither team moved the ball very well and had to rely on there defenses. Walton had a one of the best defensive halfs this year in the first half. Although the second half was a bit different. The backs for GC did what ever they wanted and just out played the Bearcat defense. The Bearcats got a break when GC fumbled the ball on the one yard line but failed to get a drive going. I would like to see these teams play again without a weather factor. If so I think Walton would be the winner by a long shot. The Bearcats didn't show the heart that they have showed every game so far this year and that will not win games. Best of luck to both teams next week. GC plays BB. Walton has their senior night next week as they play Pikeville.

Gc plays at bellevue next week if im not mistaken, then they have BB for the finale.

:dancingpa Don't know what kind of weather factor you are talking about! Good win for the Wildcats! Loved every thing about the win! Looked like two totally different teams that came out in the second half, Gallatin just wanted it more.

I'm sure that's at all true. The Bearcats just need to keep their focus and win games that they should, like this one.

Some on here have it posted right... really a tale of two halves for both teams. Walton looked tough in the first half by pounding the ball on offense for a couple of sustained drives. Walton's defense was able to get into Gallatin's backfield almost at will during the 1st half. Gallatin was not able to move the ball and had a vulnerable defense during the 1st half.

 

Second half was totally the ooposite for both teams as Gallatin had several sustained drives and stingy defense. Walton had several miscues on offense and really could not get it going at all in the 2nd half.

Exactly right. Congrats to Gallatin, they keep fighting and it payed off.

Congrats to GC for the win. WV played a solid first half defensively. A little help from the offense would have been nice. Too many stupid penalties and too many undisciplined mistakes. The offsides penalty on the extra point try was huge. As birdsfan said....when the games they should, like this one!

When did the teams score?

 

Walton late in the second quarter. Gallatin with under 3 minutes in the third. They then lined up for the extra point and drew WV offsides. After that they went for 2 and converted.
