  1. Add to the above mentioned; True and several more at Highlands. Vocke and several more at Beechwood.
  2. SK will be back in the state championship game if the key players stay healthy.
  3. Since Dixie beat Beechwood 47-7, HHS should win putting up 80 something to Beechwood maybe making a couple field goals to put up 6 points. No doubt this one will be ugly. As far as the JV goes, with Beechwood being forced to play so many Sophomores in the varsity games because of injuries to the upper classmen, the Beechwood JV will have a tough season this year just like the varsity will experience until the varsity gets in to the 1A teams. The JV doesn't have the luxury of playing half a season of 1A teams so it might be a season of hard knocks and character building humility for them. Such is life but they will be stronger next season for it and things will work out for the best.
  4. That's good to hear. With seniors wearing two championship rings and the freshman team last year going undefeated why aren't there more boys wanting to play?
  5. My banker told me Beechwood may not even have a freshman team in 2009. What gives?
  6. No but people I have talked with about the FBU camps speak highly of them. Are their camps heavily attended? Do they have any in KY?
  7. As stated in a number of previous threads. Quality coaching is the key. Add to that committed athletes and families. It's expected and nothing less is accepted.
  8. He wil be a Bengal eventually. It's just destiny.
  9. The past is the past. The only thing that matters are future games and time will tell....
  10. Good points. From what I hear from a co-worker close to the family of the QB, he has been working hard in the off season and from what's being said about Elliott he should go both ways and not come off the field very much unless the game is one sided. That being said, Eubanks will be on the field getting his touches too. Ryle should be tough.

IMO, their best running back is Rigdon, their QB. He's fast, strong and durable plus he's a returning starter. From watching the televised games against Cov. Cath. and the State Championship game against Hazard, Rigdon made key rushes that won those games and ultimately another state championship. If he didn't have to play QB, I would add him to the list of top 10 RBs.
  12. IMO Elliott will carry the load with his physicality. Eubank will see his share of touches and let's not forget the QB. He's strong and fast.
  13. This certainly a complex issue with no easy answer. If it goes through, there will likely be a number of loopholes that will be used and there will be athletes "homeschooled" when its time for HS so they can play where they want. It will be interesting to see how this plays out for sure.
  14. It will be a tight 1st half but Beechwood will not be able to stay with the talent of The Birds. Foul trouble and a short bench will make the 4th quarter get ugly. HHS by 16.
  15. Look for 7 on 7 "tournaments" or "camps" in June with the coaches as nearby observers. The coaches are too creative to let this craziness stop them. It will work out.
  16. No need to run the ball very much next year. Just enough to keep the defense honest. Air it out and run up the score! IMO, the opposing defenses are in trouble.
  17. Prayers from the entire NKY area. We are hoping for the best outcome. I didn't see anything on the news about it last night so please keep us posted.
  18. Wouldn't that decision be based more on athleticism and the ability to do the job and not on what grade a player is in? For small programs like Beechwood, from one season to the next players will find themselves in different positions based on the needs of the team at that time. A tight end one year may have to play QB, tackle or fullback the next season. If the incoming sophomores work hard in the off season a number of them will see considerable time on the field next season at whatever position they can help the team the most.
  19. HHS has home field advantage combined with True, Quillen, New & the big line will control the BW D. From the couple of times I saw BW this season their arm tackling won't even slow True down. Plus BW hasn't seen a D like the birds this season. They won't be able to stop the Bird Blitz. The HHS depth will play a factor in the 4th quarter. BW will put up a fight but the Birds just have too much for them and they will prevail as Champions. Good luck to both teams.
  20. It could be closer but the way BW beat the previously undefeated Ryle was very impressive and I would expect a BW victory by a large margin. Hopefully it will be a close and competitive game but I just don't see it.
  21. I would hope for closer games too. They are more exciting to watch. But Conner and Ryle lose tonight. Time will tell.
  22. I've watched Ryle play 4 or 5 games this season. They barely beat Cooper! IF CC doesn't cursh them I'll be surprised. The only way the score might be closer is if Ryle slips in some of their 1's to carry the ball against CCs 2's.
  23. Conner @ Campbell. Campbell by 21 Cov Cath @ Ryle. CC by 14 Dixie @ SK. Dixie by 21 HHS @ Boone. HHS by 21 NCC @ Beechwood. BW by 28.
