A game of runs. GRC had it back down to 6 with the ball late before another run by Boys & Girls stretched it back out. Neither team shot well.

Hopefully some people with experience in setting up tourneys can respond. I have wondered about this for some time but suspect that the host justs sets them up anyway they want mostly. I think travel times might be taken into some consideration in some cases.

I was there and thought the refs didn't have very good game throughout. They missed a lot of 5 second calls, carries and charge calls. The last foul was the worst. But that being said GRC had their chances to win. HC is a very nice team that should make things interesting in the 11th. Nothing embracing losing to them under normal circumstances.

There was definitely contact with Zollo on the last play. You will not get that call but the other foul on Rogers was a horrible call. A game is never decided by a single play but that was a tough way to lose. I see in interviews after the game the HC coach was surprised by the call on Rogers also.

I tought it would have been a bit bigger margin of victory, but a win is a win and in a tournament that is all that matters.

A bit surprised by the score but all that travel and multiple games in a short period of time has to wear on a team without much depth. So I don't think this is really an indication that Catholic is that much better than Mason. Mason will be fine when they get back and start their normal schedule of games. They are still 1/1A with Clark, in a you pick em order, in the 10th and one of the best teams in KY.

GRC wins 69-55 and moves on to play Monday. GRC has too many options and even if Zollo is contained that still leaves Stenzel, Rogers, Daniels, etc. Daniels is having a great year so far and is making people play him and that just leaves more room and options for everyone else. With the improved point guard play this year, GRC is a vastly improved team over last year. Not saying they can't be beaten by Kentucky teams this year because they will, but this is a different team than last years.

Montgomery should win this by a good margin, Montgomery 77 Bourbon 62.

GRC should win this one by a big margin. I'll go with GRC 75 Paris 45.

I also picked GRC in the poll with my heart but my head says White Station wins.

Didn't see anything when the technical was called but he talked to the refs after a lot of calls so it may have been he had been warned and continued.

They slowed it down last year so I guess it would not be unexpected to do it again this year. I certainly hope not. If they come to play, GRC by 20 and if not still GRC but by 8.

That video is something. Better student section than any I have personally seen.

I agree with walking being the most missed call. Kids are so fast on the dribble now a days refs call a lot of walks that are not because the move looks odd. I also dislike the way the jump ball call often happens. The refs seem to use it as a bailout when they are not sure what to call. In my opinion a lot of tie ups are actually just muggings.

GRC should win by double digits, but I expect it to be close for awhile. Central has some very nice young talent but experience and depth should do it for GRC.

Never saw her in high school, but she was pleasure to watch in her one year at KY. She really helped that team alot with her experienced play.

Since these seats are so bad, they shouldn't even be used for the finals. 500 or so less people will lower the temperature, improve parking and shorten the lines at the concessions and the restrooms. That removes most of my objections to the Fieldhouse, so if this is done who needs to move to the BOK.

The Clark section might have been the same. The point is that they shouldn't be put into those sections behind opposing teams. Yes, maybe the coaches were offered to switch, but the host should not have created this seating arrangement in the first place. But you are correct. Game over, Mason won, Clark lost. We'll try it again next year. However Mason is like Duke to me, so go North Hardin.

That jersey story belongs on a topix page not in a "real" newspaper. The trophy should not have been left on purpose, if it was. The jersey probably was an accident. But is that really all the Ledger had to work with for that day. Surely the library board met or signups for soccer are coming.
