These two will play each other in the Fayette County Tourney, Saturday, 2:00 at Henry Clay. Your thoughts and predictions on this game.

GRC coasts to an easy win.

GRC - 85

Ryle - 60

GRC is looking like possibly the top team in the state. They easily beat Ryle.

GRC 83

Ryle 58

Stauffer vs. Zollo=good matchup. However, GRC with to many other weapons and win this one going away.

I disagree. Zollo is bigger, stronger, and more physical than Stauffer.

Cards will run away with this one easily and I see both Stauffer and Vollet struggling against the Cards size and length inside.

OK Walter, we agree to disagree. I think Bob Stauffer is a very solid player. I witnessed Robinson from Conner do a great job on Zollo last year when Conner beat GRC and Zollo fouled out of that ball game. I put Stauffer in the same class as Robinson.

Stauffer is indeed a very good player. I just think Zollo is better. Nothing wrong with that. Zollo has improved A LOT since that Conner game at the beginning of LAST season.

I agree. I saw Ryle play at Tates Creek on Dec 3rd. Believe they may hang with the Cards the first half, but GRC will pull away the second half.

Walter who do you see matching up with Cory Rogers? He is a beast inside.

Let's see. One of the top 4 teams in the state vs. one of the top 4 teams in the district. I pick Cory Rogers Clark & Co. by a comfortable margin. Hats off to Ryle for scheduling the Cards.

They really didn't schedule the Cards. This is a tourney in Fayette Co, and they were paired up with each other. Ryle also played at Tates Creek in the Mr. Basketball classic. It does show that they will play a very competitive schedule and welcome the challenges.

My guess is that Ryle did not schedule George Rogers Clark, but rather, accepted an invitation to the Fayette County Invitational tournament and drew GRC in a random draw.

Nonetheless, playing a tough opponent will do nothing but help a team come tournament time.

Agree.

GRC wins 69-55 and moves on to play Monday. GRC has too many options and even if Zollo is contained that still leaves Stenzel, Rogers, Daniels, etc. Daniels is having a great year so far and is making people play him and that just leaves more room and options for everyone else. With the improved point guard play this year, GRC is a vastly improved team over last year. Not saying they can't be beaten by Kentucky teams this year because they will, but this is a different team than last years.
