With 2.7 seconds to go in game GRC is ahead 54-53. Zollo missed a ono+ one and Rogers and Prewitt go to floor for ball....foul on Rogers. Anouncers didn't like the call. Prewitt goes to line with .9 of a second. Make them both.

Just got in from the game. It was a 50/50 call. But with 2.7 secs left, I wish they would have let the HC guy just dive on it. Time probably would have expired. (of course being a GRC fan, I think there was no foul).

 

But it is what it is - Tough loss for the Cards, and congrats to HC.

 

Need to watch for the very last play of the game also. GRC throws the ball the length of the court with .9 sec left and looked like there was contact on Vinny Zollo from the HC player, but I didn't get a good look on it. Anyone at the game see anything?

They were super fast as well! They transitioned great, and hit most of thier 3's attempts.

There was definitely contact with Zollo on the last play. You will not get that call but the other foul on Rogers was a horrible call. A game is never decided by a single play but that was a tough way to lose. I see in interviews after the game the HC coach was surprised by the call on Rogers also.

It was a huge turn around after GRC's 2 point lead. It was a strange last 13 secs..........

Congrats to the Prewitt kid for making both FTs I'm sure in a hostile situation. Those are things you dream about as a kid. Tough loss for the Cards.

Nichols found himself at the foul line after what Brown admitted was a surprising whistle against Clark County.

Corey Rogers had given the Cardinals a 54-53 lead by making two free throws with 15 seconds left.

After Henry Clay turned the ball over under its basket with 2.5 seconds remaining, it fouled Vinny Zollo.

Zollo missed the front end of the bonus, and in a scramble for the rebound, Nichols grabbed the ball and was headed up the floor when Rogers was called for a grabbing foul.

"I was real happy to hear the whistle," Nichols said.

Clark County Coach Scott Humphrey was obviously upset, but he didn't vent against the official.

"One call never costs you the game," he said. "There are 32 minutes in a game.

"We pride ourselves as a program never to blame the refs, and we're not going to tonight. Players make mistakes, coaches make mistakes, and referees make mistakes.

Sounds like the GRC coach should have had his players back off the lane and not risk a foul being called. Then again if Zollo makes the foul shots game should be over.

Great response by Coach Humphrey whether it was right or wrong. I was not there or have seen a replay, but I'd take him officiating my games any day.

I agree about the response. Lot's of other area's to look at the season continue's.
