Huge Crowd tonight. Great defensive game by Robbie Stenzel. He did a great job on Prewitt. He also was leading scorer with 24 points.

 

Zollo got into early foul trouble and only played 14 minutes and scored 6 points. Other scores for Clark were:

GRC largest lead was 64-27 with 5:21 to go in the 4th when all of our subs went in.

What a great crowd! Place was almost completly full with both student section cheering as loudly as possible.

 

While playing a great game, GRC looked completly out of synch at times. Almost frustrated. But they transition well, and inside they were just over-powering.

 

I though Handshoe played a great game for Montgomery Co even though in foul trouble.

MC scored 13 points in the last 5 minutes when GRC put their subs . MC only scored 16 points in the whole first half. Prewitt had 6 points at the half, not sure what he ended up with. I agree with you, Robbie played a heck of a defensive game, beisdes being leading scorer.

Really? They were up by 33 after 3 and won by 29. Seems like it was as close as the score indicates.

Montgomery played hard. Clark is very good. Stenzel was very impressive, but if they called all the holding he was doing every time Prewitt cut- Clark would have still won but it would have been a more competitive game. 20 lbs will make a big difference in Omar's ability to play through that kind of stuff. Crowd was awesome.

Clark continues to roll.

Worthy of mention - the younger Stenzel played very well and put a lot of clean , hard defensive pressure on the Montgomery point guards.

Didn't think the Refs were afraid to call anything, Robbie was too much for Prewitt, period! Other teams take note, get Zollo in foul trouble, you only lose by 29!

Hard to cut through all the moving screens MC had last night. The refs finally called it once.

George Rogers Clark came away with a sweep of Montgomery County in front of a packed house Friday night at Norton Gymnasium.Robbie Stenzel paved the way for Clark with 24 points and connected on six shots from long range and had 5 assists.

 

Clark coach Scott Humphrey was pleased with Stenzel’s performance, especially on the defensive end. Stenzel limited Montgomery County sharpshooter Omar Prewitt to just two field goals and seven points.The Indians scored just six points in the first half and connected on five field goals, with two of those coming from long range.

Ref's seemed to call the slightest touch foul on drives and bumping down low. Zollo's size seemed to be working against him in the first quarter after picking up two quick fouls. (followed by the 3rd shortly after).

 

Did anyone catch why the Technical Foul was called on #4 from M/C? It didn't seem like anything really happened to warrant it.
