Hard to pick this one...anytime you've got a great player that can get 40 on any given night, especially one approaching the end of his career, it's a dicey proposition in picking a winner. I'll go with RC by 7 but if TK goes off EC could easily win this one.

I hope TCP didn't pay him for this "preview". Not sure that he talked to a coach in the region, very few stats, and got several names wrong. Said Cross had a great summer for Rowan, and he didn't play a game.

Aaron Rayburn is way too low. He's a top 5 player in the region IMO.

Really? Gonna play that card after the fiasco at Maysville last year when RC was flagged 17 or 18 times, all but 2 thrown by one guy?

You saw Rowan without Wing or Cross or both in most cases. They never played a game together this summer I don't believe. I saw them several times; Ashland beat them 10 and Delaney and Townsend were the 2 best players on the floor. The trio of Wing, Townsend, and Cross will be a handful for ANYBODY, and the 6'7 kid, Hunter, has gotten better. It will be a lot of fun watching West, Ashland, Elliott, and Rowan jockey for position all year.

Have to believe Ashland is 1, and Rowan 2 with the addition of Townsend, and any team Timmy Knipp is on has a chance to beat you. GC is talented, but they have issues with the guy in the 1st chair (have they fired him yet?). West has 2 nice players in Brown and Rayburn and could be a factor.

This will get out of hand early; RC will win by 50.

Wasn't really close...Rowan by 17. Guard play is an issue.

Is it going to be on ESPN?

I expect West to contend for the title this year. I would throw them in the mix with Elliott, Rowan, and Ashland. If Greenup could find some guard play and the new coach does a good job, then they'll be a tough out as well. But with all the stuff that goes on behind the scenes there (allegedly) then it's hard to get on that wagon. Russell could be a darkhorse as well.

Greenup will not win the region, IMO. High school basketball is very much about guard play. Doesn't matter how many 6'6 kids you have if they don't get shots. GC is very talented, but with all the turmoil and the prolonged coaching search, that's a bit of a stretch IMO. Elliott, West Carter, Rowan County will be the early favorites in the 16th.

So....who do you cheer for?

You must be the guy who was never good enough to play so you try and fulfill your basketball dreams by criticizing others. If you think UNC is not an elite women's program, then you have no business posting on this site. #27 is pretty good. IF you played, where did ESPN have you ranked?

lol. Everyone can rest easy now...Jericho has given Sara his stamp of approval. because ESPN said she was elite, now Jericho believes it! lol. She's a player, plain and simple. And UNC and ND are perennial top 10 programs. Pretty elite if you ask me.
