I really like West Carter's nucleus of Aaron Rayburn, Kyle Brown, and Derrick Lawson, and I think it's one of the best in the region. West probably won't have much size, especially if Eldridge isn't able to play (I think he'll be ready for Basketball season and still plans on playing). The team is going to go as far as Bond can take them though. If he's consistent, West Carter's big trio could become a quartet and I could see West becoming a legit top 5-7 team in the region.

He gets taller every time I see him (he has to be 6'4"-6'5"), he's one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet too. WC has a good group of boys this year :thumb:.

I expect West to contend for the title this year. I would throw them in the mix with Elliott, Rowan, and Ashland. If Greenup could find some guard play and the new coach does a good job, then they'll be a tough out as well. But with all the stuff that goes on behind the scenes there (allegedly) then it's hard to get on that wagon. Russell could be a darkhorse as well.

West Carter needs Rayburn to be more consistent in being the "man" every game. While he is a nice guy, IMO I think he needs to be a little more assertive everytime he steps on the court. He has the size and ability to dominate the 16th if he does that, along with continuing to work on his game. I really like his skills and potential.

Still think it's Elliott County for 16th region champs in 2011!
