Yes, to me a press is an active, trapping defense. If you are being guarded full court and can't beat your man one on one then you've got issues; you may want to start with individual instruction. Many nights it's the only defense a smaller team has against larger teams, but nobody seems to care about that fact.

Rowan County just finished a stretch of 5 games in 8 days. They were scheduled to play at Russell on the 15th but it was canceled. It has been re-scheduled for the 20th, and Rowan will play at Ashland on the 24th.

Yea, Montgomery plays a heckuva schedule. Should be no surprises come Feb/March!

A wise man told me once he tried to schedule 4 games per year where he was pretty sure he would get drilled, 4 games he was sure he could win, 4 50/50 games. the rest was usually made up of natural rivalries, conference games, etc.

Morgan is a good team; extremely well coached. Not sure any coach in the region gets more done than Jeff Brown. He's also a class act.

Eagle was her usual great self, #23 made some big shots. Both teams played hard, and MC gave it a great shot. Rowan went up 20-21 pts in the 3rd quarter; RC was up 16 at the end of the 3rd. MC got back into it from the FT line in the 4th, and RC played a little tired; 5th game in 8 days. Congrats to MC; gonna be tough out for somebody.

They were preseason #14 or 15. Big strong physical team. Quite possibly the best freshman in the state in 6'0" guard Kendall Noble. Rowan's 4th game in 5 nights.

Brockman and Kissinger with 14 each, Martin with 13, Riddle with 9 and Kiser with 9. Noble with 13 for Breathitt.

I can guarantee that EC's schedule, while good, is no better than Rowan's. Notre Dame, Boone Co., and Manual all ranked (Manual #1), along with lafayette and Tates Creek. As far as the not 50 better, you may be right. May not be 50 better every night, but it was 65-30 in the 3rd quarter when the dogs were called off. EC's starters outscored the freshman team 25-9 to make it respectable. Oh...and its ALWAYS the refs, huh? lol! EC shot more FT's than Rowan!

16-0 against region competition, region champs....about as dominant as it gets. As far as your "close" argument goes, good teams win on nights when they don't play/shoot particularly well. Most are HOPING RC doesn't do well this year, which is fine. But 27-6 against a statewide schedule is pretty good. So since West played Elliott to a 12 point game, they aren't dominant this year, huh? LOL!!!

When teams don't turn the ball over, Manual will struggle to score if Jones doesn't get touches. Guess head to head scores mean nothing anymore.
