Random thoughts: The "blarge" is ridiculous. Can't be both, somebody blew it. The "bobble" call is equally ridiculous IMO. Theoretically, if you have the ball you can bat it from one end of the floor to the other without dribbling. Just hit it into the air like a volleyball...

Some districts add the stipend to the check, assuming the coach is an employee of the district (teacher, janitor, etc...). Others pay in a lump sum at season's end. Still others pay the stipend in two installments, typically part one in mid-November, the other in mid-March.

That never ends well.

Parents, and especially parents with money/influence are calling the shots, make no mistake about that. Virtually EVERYWHERE! Superintendents are by nature political animals and when they get pressured it flows downhill.

In the 16th there is one official who openly cheers for a program when he is not calling a game. Would you want him on your games?

I HAVE seen a huddle on a foul call. The dreaded "blarge" call, which incidentally I believe to be ridiculous because it can't be a charge AND a block at the same time.

But both calls CAN'T be right......the fact that there is a "blarge" rule is inconceivable to me, though I've seen it called about 3 times in the last 6-7 years.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I know I would be hesitant to write a LOR without feeling that I had a good understanding of a person's character, integrity, etc. many people wear a mask in public and appear to be something they are not. I'm not in any way saying that is the case here,and I find it equally as intriguing that the coach would ask someone he never met to writ one.

I don't think I've ever heard of someone writing a LOR without actually KNOWing the person! lol

He is a good coach, and he did do a very good job this year. However, with the state of the 16th Region (down) a lot of folks could have done the exact same thing with the group that Fleming Co had.

That's exactly what I saw. The official didn't have a chance to leave the floor.

I saw it. The coach started on the official as he was leaving the floor, and continued his rant and advancement towards the official after the buzzer. Wouldn't stop, even after the first technical. Could have gotten ugly. Your assessment of why the technicals were shot is the way it was explained last night.
