  1. Thanks for the review PH. I think the Purple's inexperience and smaller line will be up against the Tigers' strength. Both Tiger lines are bigger, more physical and have more depth than last year. Hopefully the weather holds out and it is not an offtrack. I've seen all the BG vs. St. X games in the recent past. There have been some tremendous games (and storms) between these two rivals. I think the Tigers may surprise some people statewide tonight and start showing how good this team can be! Tonight I'm predicting a 34 -13 Tiger win on the road!
  2. St. X is fortunate to have such a talented radio crew in John and Tony. I listen to them every week! They know the game, describe the sets when the team breaks the huddel, and give an accurate view of the play in progress. Their analysis is always on point.
  3. I think 6A is very weak this year aside from the top 2 - T & X. I would put PRP at number 3. Eastern, Male, Scott Co., Butler and Ballard haven't set the world on fire this year. We are only two weeks into the season. Not many people would have placed Manual outside the Top Ten in the preseason. Just another example of the weakness of 6A this year past the top two. Looking to be another boring post season for many teams again this year.
  4. I'm waiting to make a prediction until we find out if Isaac has an effect on the game. I think this St. X team can score 28 - 31 points on a dry track.
  5. I like your confidence. This team has the ability to be very good. BG will test them and hopefully they keep taking the next step to reach their full potential.
  6. PP92 ... you are right on many counts. Scheduling the best only makes you better as you can focus on fixing the flaws that great competition exposes. This should be a great game Friday night in BG. I know the Tigers were happy that they don't have to deal with "Scooter" anymore, but their coaches are very impressed with your current QB. This Tiger team is much better than last year's group. They have a talented group of offensive and defensive weapons. Schickel's a force in the kicking game. So far only one kickoff has not reached the endzone. His 54 yard high and long punt the other night resulted in a turnover as the Dutch Fork return man tried catching it over his shoulder after a long retreat. Good luck Friday... this will be the highlight game in Kentucky this week!
  7. Hats off to Treyveon Percell and Austin Davis for stepping up huge in such a pressure situation in the second half and three OT's tonight. AvidTiger has been singing their praises all preseason and this game tonight proved him right as the two juniors were instrumental in the win. What a group of Juniors! - Walker, Percell and Davis! They are going to be fun to watch!
  8. I believe you're right. When was the last time THS was down 24+ points other than to X? Anyone remember? Did they lose big in 2009 other than to X?
  9. I'd say this is a huge understatement after seeing Fern creek last week vs. X.
  10. Glad to get a little activity going on this thread. Out of state competition is hard to figure.
  11. I predict this St. X team will be in a battle with Dutch Fork. It will be interesting to see who controls the line of scrimmage. Durch Fork's size will pose a major problem. Durch Fork is not driving about 10 hours to Louisville to lay an egg. They are a force to be reckoned with. My prediction is St. X 27 - Dutch Fork 21. This game will give an early indication as to the potential of this St. X. team for 2012. The coaches really seem to like this team.
  12. Hey Avid, just reporting what I saw. Tom Lane at Fox 41 had some good film of the scrimmage on his newscast tnight. He showed the big hit by Clemons that caused a first half fumble. Definitely the Big Hit of the night!
  13. Was very impressed with this St.X squad. They look the part. Their size reminds me of some of the Greater Cincinnati teams. Tremendous speed to the ball on the defensive side. Plenty of playmakers on the offense. If this junior class matures they will make this team a force deep in their schedule. Great punting (in warmups) and deep kickoffs by Schickel during the scrimmage. He will be a major weapon for this team.
  14. This St. X team will be very good this year. If SK lost their entire D-Line they could be in a for a long night as this X offensive line will be bigger and more talented with the abundance of large talented juniors hitting their stride this year. When X has an offensive line with this size and ability they are hard to handle. Buckle UP SK!
  15. Avid...I appreciate your analysis. You mentioned a lot of guys running 4.4's. Hope you are right. Coaches seem excited about this group this year. I've been watching X for many years and know that Vic Anderson ran a 4.37 at a camp at West Virigina prior to his junior year. 4.4 is pretty rarified air...hope you are close on all counts!
  16. This thread is a joke. Get your facts right before you spew false infromation. ST. X beat them 48-34, not by six. Miles was injured in the 3rd quarter and SK actually played better with Chad Lawrence running the show in the hurry up offense because they were so far behind early on.
  17. If it was it became an avalanche from that snowball you are referring to.
  18. Trinity 56-7. In 2004 Scott County made the finals and were really expected to put up a threat to St. X. They trailed 35-0 at half on the way to a 49-9 loss. This Friday will be much the same, over at halftime. Trinity will ease off the throttle in the second half much as they did last year against Male. Note to KHSAA --- 6 classes is too many!
  19. Alex Mattingly led the Tigers to victory as he completed 10 of 12 passes for 159 yards and one touchdown. He really has developed into a stellar quareterback able to beat you with his arm or his legs. His passing tonight was on target and he threw many beautiful strikes against the Mlae defense.
  20. Scooter and pals prove to be too much for Greenwood. Final score 48-14.
  21. Don;t go counting you;re chickens! I remember seeing Steve Jewell, Darrell Culver, Eddie Patton and a host of other Butler Bears maul Trinity in the 1970 State Championship game 20-0. There's a hungry bunch of Bears out of hibernation and they're prowling Dixie Highway these days. Rocks may want to reconsider that trip to Henderson, provided they escape a Tiger the week before.
