  1. I don't see this as any way possible that either X or T is not in the final game. Have you been watching 6A over the past ten years? No one in 6A can make a run through X or T in a championship playoff. Look at the past final game scores and tell us who is poised to break through in 6A. Now that KHSAA has pitted X and T in the 3rd round the final game has become a farce. Doesn't matter if it is Scott County, PRP, Ryle or anyone else in 6A, the champion is crowned in the 3rd round. No reason that 2013 will be any different.
  2. I put St. X ahead of Bowling Green this year. If you rememeber last year's game in BG X led 23-13 at halftime. Bowling Green had not given up 20+ points in any of their 18 or so game winning streak. St. X put 23 on the board in the first half and had their QB injured on the last play of the first half. The game totally changed then as X got very conservative and could not make first downs or sustain any offensive momentum. Both teams return numerous starters and skilled people. Could be one of the top games in the Commonwealth this season.
  3. Thanks LTR. I was at the Spring Game and Vic was there on the sidelines encouraging next year's Juniors and Seniors. Their eyes lit up when he came over and patted them on the back and had some nice words for them! Now back to the thread: The top 3 players I have seen are: DICKY LYONS, RICK BEUHNER, and BERNARD JACKSON. All three were phenoms. They forced the opposing coaches to game plan for them for every down they were in the games.
  4. Thanks for the info Avid. Congratulations to Treyveon! The three headed monster of Percell, Walker and Davis is going to be fun to watch in 2013. All three will get college offers. Some are saying that as many as 12 of these Tigers will play college ball.
  5. Thanks this team will be exciting. Coach Glaser really did Will a favor by leaving the cupboard full for Will's first season.
  6. You might ask the Dutch Fork coaches their opinion on this. He had an 85 yard TD run and an 89 yard punt return for TD called back on penalties in the first half against Dutch Fork.
  7. Congratulations to Charles! With him at a slot receiver this will help get him, Treyveon Percell and Austin Davis on the field at the same time. The three headed monster should create nightmares for opponents.
  8. So how could Charle Walker of St. X. not be on this list? He's definitely a Mr. Football candidate for next year.
  9. Thanks for these three players! Didn't want to omit anyone. Tried to do it from memory! That makes about 12 possible college athletes. Coach Glaser did not leave the cupboard bare. All these juniors entered X the season following their 2009 State title victory versus Trinity. Here's hoping that they can return the hardware to Poplar Level Road. Their tremendous size and talent will be fun to watch against these quality opponents in 2013.
  10. I see a 9-1 or 10-0 record next year. No one is talking about all the talent returning within the junior class. I see 9-10 guys from the junior class possibly playing college ball after next year: Running backs -- Charles Walker, Austin Davis, Treyveon Percell; Linemen -- John Kurtz, Zane Meiners, Lenny Broyles, Austin Askin; DB - Dakota Jones ; QB - B.J. Nagle
  11. Rasha d Harris, former UL linebacker and St. X assistant coach is now on the CSU staff as a strength coordinator. Therein lies the answer.
  12. Yes he is a great guy and a good young coach!
  13. My question is why is Mercy ranked so high at #2? Assumption handled them easily last night and they must have about five losses by now.
  14. Amen to that! It does get tiresome to have a thread for all to be a dissertation about HHS.
  15. Why is James Quick still out with the broken ribs? It seems that if he could play in the State football game against PRP he would be well enough to play basketball. Any update on his condition?
  16. Wasn't trinity's only loss that year to St. X.? I believe that was the game that Ron Steele intercepted a pitchout intended for Hennessey and took it in for the winning score with about 30 seconds left. Final score was St. X 19 - THS 12....if memory serves correctly. A packed and stunned Fairgrounds stadium crowd witnessed one of the first classics in this series.
  17. Staff is not all gone. The word at the banquet the other night was that Todd Walsh is still the Defensive Coordinator. Only current staff members unsure for next year are Coaches Bruner and Chitwood. Coach Wade is mulling it over. Sounds as if Browning Nagle will be the OC. A former NFL lineman may be the offensive line coach. Coach Wolford has done a good job reaching out to current staff members and letting them know they are appreciated and wanted. Helping make the transition go much smoother and another great staff appears to be in the making..
  18. I've seen them all and Alan Hennessey was the best RB to play for Trinity.
  19. Good win last night for the Rockets beating a Top 10 Butler team handily. I am starting to believe that many of the preseason polls showing Assumption as a Top 5 team may be correct. It's early but good to see them back to the level of the 2007 team. Not sure if they match up with that team but let's hope so!
  20. No way he plays if ribs were really broken. T hasn't been the offensive machine without him in the lineup. The defense better play four quarters and not just the second half. If PRP gets some early confidence with a first half lead (like X and Scott Co.) and the T offense sleep walks through another first half, it could be a long ride back to The Ville for THS. With some early confidence this PRP team could extend the outcome until late. Will T's late magic holdup again? That is the question that scares me. To win this game T must control the first half and take PRP out of it. The T offensive and defensive lines must make PRP realize that they are playing a higher level of compettion that is hard to beat. If not, it could be a new champion that is crowned. A Public School at that!
  21. These Rocks don't seem that dominant. Without Quick they are not putting up the points they will need to beat the PRP juggernaut. I think PRP shocks the Commonwealth and leaves BG with the Triophy!
