Franklin Co 50 Bullit East 47
Decent, not as well as they need to. Meyer had a good floor game and played good defensively, but the press took them out of offense and put scorers in bad positions to score. Such as the front and middle of the press for their guards. Meyer and Hall both struggled with foul trouble. There were many charges called that could've easily been called blocks. I think there were about 5 called in the first half against the Flyers.

Kentucky's Top Players in the Clutch
Top 5 is a preaseason pick. PREseason.

Elliott Co 86 GRC 65 (Russell panorama)
I'd say EC is the big boy and GRC is the one trying to compete. GRC has loads of talent and will do nothing but get better, BUT I think that they are slightly overrated right now. I do not think they have the experience to compete in the top 5 in the state. They very well could gain this experience by the end of the year, but they don't have it just yet. I know this is only a scrimmage and you shouldn't base too much opinion on it, but this has been my opinion ever since there has been talk about them in the top 5 with such young players. Stenzel should be there go to guy this year because he has the most complete game on their team. Even though he played really well last year I think he will break out this year. I doubt his numbers will improve much because they were really good last year, but he will mature into a player with the edge and competitiveness needed for this team to be great. He seems tentative when he plays at times because he is young, but this year I believe he will step up as the vocal leader of GRC and become "the man" for this team.

Kentucky's Top Players in the Clutch
I dont what your source is, but I highly doubt that he did not lead the team in shots taken. Jenkins is definitely a good player, and he might be clutch too, but I do not think he is near the team player that faulkner and middleton are, along with many other top players in the state.

Kentucky's Top Players in the Clutch
It's sad to say, but I dont think many players put their team before their own numbers anymore. From your original list I agree that Middleton and the Faulkner's always put their team first. Jenkins, absolutely not. I have nothing against the kid. He's definitely got game, and maybe if you change your definition of clutch he would fit in that category. When I have seen him play it seems he cares more about himself than his team. Just an observation.

Courier-Journal Preseason Top 25 Teams
The 7th region and 11th region seem to battle on who is the toughest in the state. The 11th got shafted a little in this ranking and I would think the 7th and 6th will get shafted a little when the Herald Leader rankings come out. It's a mutual battle if there was a ranking that could be in the middle of these two it would be about right.

Franklin County/Trinity Scrimmage
Franklin County also seemed to get tired towards the end of the game which led to them missing shots they would usually hit in the 4th quarter. Trinity got a lot better sub rotation which kept them fresh. Once FC gets their whole team there they will have better subs and be fresh late in the game. 4 of 5 starters probably played at least 28 minutes each. I would think both FC and Trinity would be no brainer top 20 teams preseason.

Franklin County/Trinity Scrimmage
Franklin County was missing a starter and the first man off the bench.
-
Franklin County/Trinity Scrimmage
Franklin County dominated early but let Trinity back in the game in the second half as they gave up too many three pointers and had too many turnovers. The game went into overtime and was still tied afterward, but they couldn't go into a second one because of time issues and other scrimmages.

Must-see games 2008-09
Throw Franklin County on that list. They always play a tough schedule and will play three of your six mentioned (SC, Holmes, GRC). All three of these games (FC vs. 3 above) will be good games. The one against Scott Co. may be the most interesting and I'm predicting that game to be very, very physical. Hopefully the refs take control of that game quick or it could be a brawl. There could very well be a fight between fans too, luckily they will sit on different sides.

Cats Pause 11th Region
Yes that's right.

Top 10 Players in the State?
Yes he is. Franklin County should have very balanced backcourt and frontcourt. Their top 6 players include 3 guards (1 football) and 3 big men (1 football).

Cats Pause 11th Region
I also think Nick Hudson is too high on the list. The three guards below him are better than him and there are other guards in the region probably better than him, too. Dunbar will miss their two speedy guards Deion Johnson and #20(?) a lot more than people think. I don't think Hudson has proved very much in his career. He is a good player, but definitely too high on this list as others in the 11th region not on this list are better than him. I also wouldn't put Will Evans on this list of the toughest region in the state.

KHSAA officer finds Euton, Jackson eligible
This is worse than news about Brett Favre on ESPN. I'm not sure which topic is more worn out at this point.

Top In players in 16th
New list! Ferguson Evan & Ethan T. Knipp Barnhill C. Knipp Forgot about Colt Barnhill. My statements about Chris don't change at all but Barnhill is a great player.

Top In players in 16th
My top 5 in this region is the whole Elliott starting five. Ferg, Evan and Ethan, T. Knipp, then C. Knipp. People are really underestimating Chris Knipp. Playin for this squad he doesn't get hardly any chance to shine and is happy with his role, but if he were at just about any other school in the 16th, he would be their main guy. He is quick, can handle, hustles, and can flat out shoot the ball.

Kentucky teams traveling in July
I heard the Mountaineer Division looked pretty bad, about like high school JV teams. Can't be too hard to put up big numbers against these teams.

Best Lineman Class of 2011
It's gotta be Wesley Watkins from Franklin County.

Scott Co. wins AAU state tournament
Just a question, how tall is Euton? Not how tall is he listed. I've seen Dakotah stand next to Phares and Euton is a good inch shorter than him.

Bluegrass Championship 2008 June 21-24
No SC players left the bench, but a manager did! haha. The whole situation was wild and way out of hand. I thought both coach's handled the situation poorly. Coach Hicks set a great example for his kids as he yelled at Coach Morrow saying "I'll kick your little butt":fight: and "we can meet in the parking lot or anywhere else you want!":argue: The Scott County players showed more maturity than Coach Hicks did. It sure is classy for a coach to threaten another about fighting during a summer league game. I also don't see why Coach Hicks was getting so upset with the refs during a summer league game.

Bluegrass Championship 2008 June 21-24
I heard Scott Co. was up big against North Hardin, then they put in their younger players who blew the lead.

Bluegrass Championship 2008 June 21-24
Agreed, but I think they could be in a world of hurtin' without these two when the season comes around.

Top Teams 08/09 Part 2
I definitely agree summer ball is overrated. You never know who is missing or how tired the other team is. I was just making a point that Franklin County should be taken seriously as a top 10 team. Maybe not top 5, at least not right now, but I do think they should be top 10. I didn't know anything about GRC vs. J-town. I was talking about FC. GRC and FC were both missing players and FC won big. Now, these teams meet up in the season and I think it will be a very, very good game. IF Franklin does win the deficit will be small.

Kentucky makes offer to Boyle's Aumiller
What position does this kid play? I know he has the body type for a great D1 quarterback. If it's the guy I'm thinking of he is about 6'5'' or 6'6'' and pretty strong.
