Somewhat suprised at how close this game was considering FC is predicted by many to finish second behind SC in the 11th.

Franklin should be tough this year led by Andy Donavan. He is an outstanding three point shooter and can also penetrate and finish inside.

Not playing like that. However, this was a first game "trap" game as some people would call it. Road game, and a lot of other stuff including nerves, etc. Franklin County was fortunate to get away with a win. They better learn from it, or it will be a long season. The effort was there, but everything else would have made Billy Gillespie proud.:madman:

Wow. Well, these are the "real games."

Pretty ugly game for FC, but give Bullit East credit as they had a good game plan. East is a well coached team that used a helter skelter press. Their defense was very good. Bullit had speed, and some pretty good athletes as well as shooters.

 

Last time I checked preseason rankings don't win games. Again it was ugly for FC, but a win.

 

Maybe the high ranked teams on FC's schedule need not worry about them, and go on and pencil in the W.

How did Mr Meyers do? He is going to be the glue for this team. They have a bunch of nice players, but Meyers will be their difference maker. (Unless the coach puts the 6'8" kid on the block.)

In the 11th region, I can assure you coaches never pencil in wins.

I doubt very seriously teams like Holmes and Scott Co will just be penciling in W's next to FC's name. FC is a VERY good team despite this close score.

Decent, not as well as they need to. Meyer had a good floor game and played good defensively, but the press took them out of offense and put scorers in bad positions to score. Such as the front and middle of the press for their guards. Meyer and Hall both struggled with foul trouble. There were many charges called that could've easily been called blocks. I think there were about 5 called in the first half against the Flyers.

I'm sure this will improve over the year. I saw all three a few times over the summer and was impressed with them. Hall is going to be a key piece to FC's success this year.

Not doubting you at all on this, but they'll have to do better than this against the likes of Scott County and Lexington Catholic. I'm thinking BE is a middle of the pack 6th region team, but its early in the season.

This is surprising but a win is a win. Does Bullit East have any footballers still missing from the B-Ball lineup? I wonder if that would have made a difference of 3 points tonight.
