This is surprising but a win is a win. Does Bullit East have any footballers still missing from the B-Ball lineup? I wonder if that would have made a difference of 3 points tonight.

Wow. Sounds like Franklin County certainly escaped with a win. Those are the type of wins any coach will take but he's usually standing at the door of the bus pushing the last kid on ordering the bus driver to get out of DODGE before they change their mind. LOL

At the end of the day, this was a good win for the Flyers. Two starting guards Meyer and Hall spent most of the 1st half on the bench. Turnovers were the story of the first half thanks to physical, high-pressure defense by BE. Franklin County uncharacteristicly had 0 3-pointers for the game, but took less than a handful. Bullitt East is very deliberate offensively, and you don't want to get behind them. Nonetheless, Franklin County gritted it out, and dominated the boards, no doubt, as BGElite pointed out, due to the absence of Bullitt East's starting center. This game will not go down as a high point in the Franklin County highlight film. Franklin County won the second half by 10 giving up 2 at the end uncontested. We'll take it and build on it. Ryan Conner had an uncontested layup at the end, but he held the ball...showing the only stat that matters to this team is the important one.....1-0.

After watching Barrett & Andy play all summer with the Derek Smith AAU team their combined output of 13 pts. really surprises me. Between the two of them one would expect something like 40 points. Must be first game rust or something?? Makes one scratch his head to see these low numbers!!!

I agree with you. Meyer and Hall did not play most of the first half as they both picked up two early fouls in the first quarter.

 

No excuses, it was not a stellar performance.

 

Again, give credit to Bullitt East, they played hard defensively and set the tone. They rotated a lot of players keeping fresh legs on the floor while they pressed. They have senior leadership and I was particularly impressed with Adam Kelty. He is strong with the ball, can drive to the bucket, and is effective from mid and long range.

 

When they get their football players out they might be better than people expect.

 

One thing is for sure, their coach has his team in shape and prepared.

 

For FC the preseason hype may have gone to their heads. I am not a fan of hype.

The game is not all about points. Stephen Curry's 44 points were not enough for Davidson to pull out a win against Oklahoma. When you play against 6th, 7th, and 11th region teams, getting the win is more important than style points.

 

FC won the game against a solid Louisville team. Props are in order regardless of Meyers and Donavon didn't score much.
