Fanofthe11th makes a good point. Who have been the top players "under pressure" last season? who made the clutch shots/plays last year? Who do you want to take the last second shot in a game this season? Or control the ball when the game's on the line?

Against Bardstown, with Holmes up 14-9, he came off the bench and scored 10 straight points to push the lead to 24-9 and seemingly put the game out of reach.

 

Against Paintsville, with Arrez Henderson being held to zero points in the first half, he responded by again coming off the bench and scoring 19 points.

 

Against Lexcath, coming off the bench, he had 15 points, including a 3 point play with under 3 minutes to go to give Holmes their first lead of the game at 39-38.

 

Against Mason Co, he hit key shot after key shot in the second half to keep Holmes in the game. Finished with 12 points.

 

I'd say for a sophomore playing on the biggest stage in the state and being the second most productive player in the tournament behind only Mr. Basketball Darius Miller, that's being clutch.

From what I read about summer ball and the Derek Smith All Stars I would have to throw FAulkner in there and dont ask which one because I forgot. I want to say Evan was the one hitting those buzzer beaters.

I think the Faulkner twins play rock paper scissors to decide who takes the shot because you know both of them want the ball. Also I would throw Vee Sanford in the mix as well.

Ethan had five buzzer beaters for Derek Smith that I recall. One put-back against Indiana Elite in the Silver finals in Bloomington. He went coast to coast with 6 seconds and hit a pull up three to beat Grassroots Canada in Las Vegas. Grass Roots is one of the top teams in North America....they ended up winning the Las Vegas Super 64 tourney. DS was the only team to beat them. I wouldn't say some other guys couldn't do that as well....but he was the one I saw.

Sean Samsel from Manual was clutch a couple of times last year as a sophomore. In the LIT last year he came off the bench and scored 20 points to help get the win against Jeffersontown. He scored 11 points in one minute with four minutes left in the game to put it out of reach. He was 5 for 7 in that game from the three.

A game's a game in my book. From what I saw....Elliott County didn't have a lot of real close games.

I'm not real familiar with them. I do have Evan listed based on what all the Elliott County fans say. I was looking for an example during high school where he was clutch in helping his team win against a top rated foe. Did they blow out all of the top 20 teams too? He is a top ten clutch player based on all that is posted here.
