Jenkins, absolutely not. I have nothing against the kid. He's definitely got game, and maybe if you change your definition of clutch he would fit in that category. When I have seen him play it seems he cares more about himself than his team. Just an observation.

I have to agree with Speedy about Jenkins. He makes Manual a contender for the 7th region and State (if they get there). Without him they wouldn' t be mentioned. Being one of the best shooters in the state, I believe the coaches want him taking any open shot that he sees.

I dont what your source is, but I highly doubt that he did not lead the team in shots taken. Jenkins is definitely a good player, and he might be clutch too, but I do not think he is near the team player that faulkner and middleton are, along with many other top players in the state.

With the state's toughest schedule that includes the LIT, KOB, 5th/3rd, 7th Region Tourney, HoopFest, KY Prep Classis, and 7th region regular season schedule, the team and him will have a great opportunity this year to do just that.

Has Jenkins signed yet? I thought I saw a post some weeks ago that noted several interested schools.

 

PS - I don't have a thing against Mr. Jenkins. I saw him play as part of the JR squad that played against the SR squad prior to the KY-IN games, and thought that he and Phares were the best juniors on the floor that evening. He struck me as a good, hard-nosed ball player. I'm just curious as to where he is going.

 

Back to the whole "clutch" thing. Does a person only qualify as a clutch performer when they've hit a couple of game-winners or led a couple of comebacks? Is it not possible to be a clutch player by virtue of leading your team to many, many easy wins; or by keeping your team ahead in several games that never get to the "last-second shot scenario"?
