Sean Samsel from Manual was clutch a couple of times last year as a sophomore. In the LIT last year he came off the bench and scored 20 points to help get the win against Jeffersontown. He scored 11 points in one minute with four minutes left in the game to put it out of reach. He was 5 for 7 in that game from the three.

Either last season or the season before, he hit two game-winners. Is always efficient in the clutch.

Haven't seen the kid play since AAU in 4th,5th, and 6th grade when he lived in Lexington, but the fact of the matter is many of the kids that were clutch back then are still clutch. I witnissed this kid hit a last second shot against Clay Euton's all star AAU program in 5th grade.

 

I'm willing to bet that the kid still plays without fear of losing, and is hitting clutch shots. Hope he recovers from his recent injury quickly and has a great season. Will McCreary be playing anywhere close to Central KY this season?

We are talking about Kentucky's top clutch players though as it applies to getting it done for their high school teams. Sure every game counts. A packed house, against a rival and top 20 team, in a hostile environment, playing against a more structured defense, and against teams that have scouted and knows where the ball is going. Who do you want taking that shot or making the play? Who got it done last year?

I witnessed a kid from Franklin County single handily take over a game against Aaron Morris and his boys from Madison Central last season. Down 23 points with about 4:30 to go in the 4th quarter the kid scored 22 points in the 4th, and hit a last second shot driving the lane and shooting over 6' 7" Aaron Morris to win the game. Call it an out of body experience.....call it luck......maybe, but it happened.

They play at Lincoln County, at East Jessamine, and also the East Jessamine Jaguar Classic. They also are playing in the 5/3rd at LexCath.

I can't keep up with you Speedy........you were first talking KY high school......now you're going national. You're just too fast.

 

All five are good players.

My name is "Speedy" for a reason. Another poster stated "national trumps" local. So I went all national on him.

EJ Murray from Scott High School, hit a buzzard beater against Brossart to in the district tourney to send the Eagles to the 37th District Championship game.

Ricardo Johnson of Holmes dropped 24 against Highlands last year and hit a jumper with 6 seconds to go to send it to overtime after they had been down 10 with 4 1/2 minutes to play in the game.

 

I know Jenkins of Manual had several big games last year where he led his team to victory over highly ranked teams. Maybe BGElite can elaborate because Jenkins IMO is the one player in the state I wouldn't want to have the ball at crunch time if I'm the opposition.

I can't answer that because I didn't see him play this summer against N Hardin. I did see him play at the D Smith tourney this summer at Hoops. In the game against Trinity he played the point guard position and looked pretty solid. Hope that helped answer your question.
