Scott County @ Franklin County (1/27)

Cantrall Ratings 1-26
Highlands barely beat Dixie and Franklin County beat them by 13 without a starter and 6th man.

Cantrall Ratings 1-26
I would really like to know what the main factors in this poll are. Tates Creek at 9-7 makes it in over Franklin County? They have played a tougher schedule at this point but with 7 in state losses vs. only 1 I don't see how they get the nod.

Scott County 82 Adair County 60
Does anyone have all of Euton stats? Threes made/attempted, FG made/attempted, etc.
-
Mason County 58 Madison Central 43
Wow. I didn't realize Pawsat had any hops. I've seen him play about 3 or 4 times and never seen this kind of elevation from him. Somebody's been eating their wheaties!!!

Franklin County 59 Montgomery County 49
The 16 was good for Meyer, but he could've taken care of the ball a little better in this one. When FC gets up on a team they can't seem to step on their throat and finish it. They've got to learn to keep intensity even when ahead so teams can't make comebacks on them. Ryan Conner would've finished with 20 pts and 15 boards if he did not get in foul trouble again. He was snatching everything off the glass on both ends when he was in.

Scott County 83 Paul Dunbar 66
This is definitely true IMO. Having 4 great players on the floor prevents other teams from being able to key on just one because something will open up for another. If a team doesn't double in the post on Phares he scores. If they do and he finds the open man (Guyn/Euton/Jackson) they get wide open shots. Just one example.

Holmes 70 Franklin County 48
It was a poke to the eye not an elbow. Just thought i'd add that because elbow sounds worse than poke.

Holmes 70 Franklin County 48
He played pretty good but I'm not sure I would say he couldn't miss a shot. Against Shelby county you could say that. He did hit a few threes but also missed many. Does anyone have his stats including made and missed threes. I would guess about 3 for 9 behind the arc.

Covington Holmes vs. Franklin County (1/16)
I have seen them probably 5 or 6 times and I'll stick with my statement. These kids for Holmes have weaknesses that Triche doesn't. Riley lacks the size, Pittman lacks the strength (mental strength too), and Ricardo lacks the outside shot. Triche has all of these. This isn't a knock on Holmes' players because they are great offensive players but none of them are close to the offensive beast Triche is.

Covington Holmes vs. Franklin County (1/16)
Correct the ESPN article is off. Triche is a good shooter but I wouldn't say outstanding. He drives first and often. If he gets a half step on anyone they are in trouble because he is a big body at 6'4'' 210 lbs, and he is definitely in shape now. If you cut him off he has a quick spin around the basket and finishes strong. I would say Rico is probably a better defensive player because Triche gets lazy sometimes, but no one on Holmes is close to the offensive threat that Triche is.

New (January 14) BGP Rankings
It doesn't matter what you could be, it is what you are at this point. Manual isn't healthy, so at this point IMO they are not top 20 or 25. If they haven't been healthy yet than no one knows what they can do when they are.
-
Covington Holmes vs. Franklin County (1/16)
Yes Rico's size and athleticism together makes him a deadly defender. I do not know if he is a better defender than Arrez Henderson, and I cannot imagine him being better than him on defense. That is who guarded Meyer last year.
-
Covington Holmes vs. Franklin County (1/16)
I'd say that would be right for Holmes but Meyer would possibly be on Rico Johnson.

Covington Holmes vs. Franklin County (1/16)
Hall will play. It is Watkins (the big boy) that won't play as well as Hicks. They are both playing in the Border Bowl. It will be Hall, Meyer, Donovan, Conner, and most likely #4 Jennels to replace Hicks.

Covington Holmes vs. Franklin County (1/16)
Does anyone think the Flyers can upset Holmes without two key players??
-
Franklin County 68 Shelby County 64
FC hasn't been out rebounded all year and they could go the rest of the season without a team doing so.

Kentucky AP Poll Is Out
Good rankings are impossible to come by because opinions are often bias and computer systems can have many flaws. I'm content with these though...
-
Franklin County 68 Shelby County 64
They are working on a game with Dunbar also. Not for sure if it will happen or not but the 31st is the date they are shooting for.
-
Maxpreps Rankings (1/12)
You can't count on rankings that give teams mysterious losses against teams they haven't played.
-
Highlands / Boone County (01/12)
I'm going with Highlands. I don't think they'll need to score a whole lot to win because of their strong defense. I think Highlands help defense will keep McFarland out of the lane where he does his damage and their discipline to block out will keep him away from the offensive glass. Underrated Highlands will beat overrated Boone County 55-49.
-
Franklin County vs. Shelby County (1/13)
I know Shelby doesn't have a great record, but they played GRC to the wire. Thoughts on the game...
-
Montgomery County vs. Dupont Manual predictions
It will be interesting to see what Jenkins does against a very good defender in Brandon Rash.

BGP Boys Rankings 1/6
I believe Jamesville Dewitt is somewhere right above 50th in the nation. There is a difference between a close loss and "giving a scare." I'm not sure, but I don't think Anderson had a close loss against Scott County. But their game against J-Town was obviously a close loss only losing by two.
