mcpapa Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 13 big points for Pawsat tonight on his return; yes the dunk was sweet. Another big game from Setty, who had 17 points and 8 rebounds; solid efforts from Middleton and Downing. Nice to see Hamm hit a couple of bombs tonight. Royals hit well over 50% from the field; 4-8 from distance. And 4-12 from the stripe. Maybe they need someone in their face when shooting FTs. This one was never close in the second half; anywhere from a 11-19 point lead the whole way. Central did turn up the pressure a bit and got a couple of easy baskets off of turnovers; but the Royals always seemed to have a 2 or 3 basket answer. It doesn't get any easier; Henry Clay up next.

bigblueinsanity Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Do the Mason Co crowds seem small this year?
mhighfield Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 Do the Mason Co crowds seem small this year? Yes,Not sure why this team is very good and fun to watch. It was nice toi have the band back,Thought they stopped doing the boys games.
mcpapa Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Nice to see the girls XC team get recognized at halftime.:thumb:
mcpapa Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Do the Mason Co crowds seem small this year? Mcmama and I were talking about this during the game. I can't figure out the reason either. I know some teams don't travel very well, but the overall attendance has been disappointing.

This may be the team that beats these Royals in the 10th region if there not careful. They started 0-8 Yikes and the FT has cost them 2 games already this year.Got to get better at this.

Neutralbutbiased Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Do the Mason Co crowds seem small this year? I thought the same thing, attended the Lex Cath game. I was really suprised, I know Lex Cath is a little down this year but thought still would be SRO. Mason is a very good team fun to watch.

About midway through the 3rd quarter I told mcmama that we were 0-for-the game. It's already bitten MC a couple of times; I sure hope it doesn't when the games REALLY matter.
NkuRoyal31 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Nice game for the Royals and way to come back and take care of business. Glad to hear Pawsat was back and had a nice game for the Royals, I really think that him and Setty, and of course Middleton will be the key to how far the Royals can go. Glad to hear Wells was there, Id like to see him as he was my coach up until my senior year and havent seen him since the year before the Royals won state tourny last year. As far as the crowds IMO I think that every year since my senior year that they have gotten smaller and smaller, even last year at state tounry the crowd want huge like it was for Mason the past couple times they'd played in the championship game. I feel as though the talent level has fallen off some over the years and ticket prices mixed in could be a key factor that turns some fans away.
