One of the great things about high school sports is that every new year is a mystery. What kid that was unnoticed last year busted her tail during the offseason and will be a star this year? What kid that should be a star shows up in February with mold on her glove. How will the new starters mesh with the veterans? I like your thinking and do agree that graduation wasn't quite as painful for GC as SK and WV, but there was still 2 very good players from Grant that graduated. Good luck!!! should be entertaining.

Been some pretty good QB's go through UK in the last few years. The system is designed for a pro-style drop back passer. Run for your life is a myth, UK has allowed 19 sacks in 8 games this year, while attempting the 2nd most passes in the SEC.

Going to give you a couple names just for examples. Flacco-Delaware, Cutler-Vandy, Rothlesberger-Miami University. He might could win a few more games somewhere else, but doesn't have much effect on making it to the next level or not. Being a star at your state university can lead to many long term career opportunities.

Not 100% sure, but I believe the playing time is in regards to a medical redshirt and has to be done in the first half of the season. For a regular redshirt as soon as the player steps on the field it is done.

How can he redshirt? He has already played and the deadline for a medical redhirt has passed. He should play every snap he is physically able to for the rest of the season.

Lot of players go into college with a lot of potential and never make it. Can't blame everything on Phillips. Hartline and Smith both improved under Phillips. I remember a lot of people talking about how awful Hartline was early before turning into a pretty good QB. Are you saying the coaching staff had nothing to do with the improvement of Hartline, but it is their fault Newton did not?

Coach Brooks also thought Newton was good enough to start his freshman year when Hartline went down. Phillips took a lot of heat the following year from the fans when he went with Hartline over Newton. It just seems that Newton never bounced back from losing out to Hartline that year.

You don't think UK's losses were to teams that are on a roll? Other than WKU's loss to Alabama the teams that have beaten UK have not lost a game. Right now, UK strength of schedule #2, Arkansas #3.

How do you see the game shaping up? matchups,etc or was that just a witty jab at the UK football team?

Bad compared to? Undefeated SEC teams, Yes. Top 25 teams, yes. Teams that are in the 25-50 range, how do we know? The only team that UK has played in that range is WKU and would have won that if not for a poor start by Smith. If UK has enough healthy players this weeks game should be a good indication of how "bad" they really are.

The record of the six teams UK has played is 29-2. The 2 losses are Alabama and UK.

Not sure I agree with you. The defense got the ball back over and over for the offense in the second half and they just couldn't get anything going.

I think if you look back over the past few years you will find that at least half of the d-1 players in the state go to UK, problem is there just aren't very many.

I would be very surprised if they weren't. My guess is the Florida situation just came down to the Coach feeling that the experienced QB was more prepared for the speed of the game than the freshman.

Every quality rep your back-up takes is a quality rep your starter doesn't get. I would think a Senior QB that has started over a dozen games would be ready unless he was pouting and not preparing.

Don't think Bracken or Gallatin have ever been considered NKY by the local media. Not saying they shouldn't be. Grant and Williamstown have been considered NKY because of their district affiliation with SK and WV.

It happened at Notre Dame. Why can't it happen at Highlands. 2 years ago ND was in worse shape than Highlands.
