Conner 3 Bishop Brossart 2

Featured Replies

The Lady 'Stangs gave one away at Conner on Saturday. :eek:They scored two runs early and led 2-0 thru the fifth when Conner scored a run on an error and then in the sixth Brossrat tried to intentionally walk Halcomb but got the 2-0 pitch too close to the plate enabling her to hit a sac fly to tie it. Two costly errors in the seventh allowed Number 2Conner to eek out a 3-2 win on Senior day. Brossart is now 23-12 while Conner improves to 25-10.

WOW, we get a report from the BGH after a 'Stangs loss!!! :thumb: Is this a sign of the "apocalypse". :idunno:

Are you kidding? The shot that Kring hit was NOT even touched by the 3rd baseman and the game winner off the bat of Straley was a good 3 feet from the 3rd baseman. Errors my foot, UNBELIEVABLE. The "magic pencil" at work yet again. How can you continue to "falsify" these reports.

Can't completely agree with you on that, the ball Kring hit was a shot but was misplayed by the 3b, but the ball Straley hit was clean. Brossart was sloppy on some of the bunts though.

There was no doubt about Straley's knock being a legit hit. I could go either way on the Kring shot, but I'd probably lean towards a hit given that it was hit so hard. Both teams played really tough and the game could have went either way. Somehow Conner continues to find a way to win all the close ones. The Boone/Conner match-up in district should be a another close one to watch.

If a Brossart girl hit it what would BHG score it????

Lawnboy everytime BGH post something you have a problem with it. Are you on BBHS coaching staff ? (Just wondering ) you seem to know alot about their team. But since you post NCC scores I would guess NO. Regardless if it was a hit / error who cares BBHS played a good game they just didnt make the plays when needed or get the key hit early in the game . But congrats to Conner for hanging in their and getting it done. Good luck to all the teams in the disctricts this week !

Something I have always wondered: Does it somehow make it less of a loss if you committed errors that allowed the other team to beat you? Isn't defense part of the game as well? Unless you are only trying to defend the pitcher it is really kind of silly to mention the unearned runs. Correct?

Agree, very well said.

It is obvious that you have not watched a Brossart game and then seen the report, or you would understand, total head-scratcher". I will not fault BGH for his love of Brossart fastpitch, NOBODY is a "bigger" homer then he and he is to be commended for that. However when he consistantly gives inaccurate reports I have a problem with it, as does a few other folks on here. Hits given to Brossart player when it is clearly an error, hits that become errors for the opposition, singles and doubles that become doubles and triples when the girl moves up a base on the throw.......I've seen it for years and it still continues. Good Lord, BGH has been around the game for far too long not to know how to keep the book. Ask the coaches at NKU, they will not look at players from Brossart because they know the stats are so ridiculous. It's amazing that the ONLY time this year he has made a post following a loss that it was because of ERRORS. Even in their wins there are "falsifications", which are so obvious that his "pencil magic" is known all over the 8th, 9th & 10th regions. I can't believe Coach Baynum would even allow him to keep making such erroneous reports.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for Brossart fastpitch, they get it done year after year. This is a credit to the players and the coaches, however the "book keeping", that's something else.

Very well said and very accurate!

I think this seems a little strong. To imply that a college program would overlook a talented athlete because of a stat sheet is a bit of stretch. A good local player should get looked at because of their play, not because of a coaches stat sheet. No offense to any players at BBHS, but maybe they just do not have a player right now that is capable of playing at that level. Given this statement, one would infer that both Miller and Griffith were passed over by NKU because they weren't as good on the field as they were in the books ?! I can appreciate your passion for accuracy, but I would have to disagree here. College programs recruit players that fit their program, regardless of a coaches stat sheet.
