I think this seems a little strong. To imply that a college program would overlook a talented athlete because of a stat sheet is a bit of stretch. A good local player should get looked at because of their play, not because of a coaches stat sheet. No offense to any players at BBHS, but maybe they just do not have a player right now that is capable of playing at that level. Given this statement, one would infer that both Miller and Griffith were passed over by NKU because they weren't as good on the field as they were in the books ?! I can appreciate your passion for accuracy, but I would have to disagree here. College programs recruit players that fit their program, regardless of a coaches stat sheet. :eek:

 

Being a former college softball coach I would have to disagree with this comment. Besides grades, one of the biggest things I looked at was a kid's stats. If I had 2 pitchers I was recruiting and only one spot, I am going to compare stats and if one had an ERA of 1.20 and another had a .8 (this one is on the team that has a coach that "inflates" the stats) guess who I am going to go after? If I knew the stats were kept the way they are being kept I am going to drop the one who was inflated. Yes it does have to do with how they fit into the program but the majority are grades and stats.

We attend at agree a lot and I am not totally disagreeing with you on this but I think all coaches look at different things. I can only speak on the situation that my daughter and most her teammates went through. Besides a question in passing like how are your grades none of coaches really did any type of research on them before making an offer. They did for the most part speak of what they will do when there to meet certain reguirments. And again none of the coaches at least with my kid asked about stats in general. I have heard Radford's coach tell people at camps he could care less about summer ball stats much less HS stats, he wants to know how you did when you faced pitchers that are going to pitch at the D1 level bc that is what you will be facing when there.

 

My question would be how do the Brossart parents feel about BGH stats, I know I want to know what my kids true stats are or as close as possible. I do agree if it is questionable at this HS level it should be a hit. But if it is not give an error.

I do not know the Miller girl or her family personal at all but I am a fan of all girls that play softball, I have checked up on how she is doing this season several times and like to root on all local girls.

 

She had one awesome game against NKU and 1 really bad game. This is why people get on BGH so much is bc he is not accurate. Miller had an awesome era this season and was only 3 games under .500, 1 great game vs NKU one bad game is it that hard to say, would anyone on here think any less of her for having a bad game.

Try to remember that you are a representative of Bishop Brossart High School. Every time you make a rude or insulting comment, it reflects poorly on the Mustang community as a whole. AD or not, it amazes me that Coach Baynum continues to allow you to speak for his team.

You are a class act let me tell you. You do not represent your school well at all. If you read my statement I said IF I had to compare 2 kids I would look at the stats.

And secondly (can't edit my post on phone) I never said anything about your (BGH) scoring in my post you referenced. So get a clue. I am so sick and tired of you (BGH) being nasty in your (BGH) comments towards me when my comment was not directed towards you BGH. Also, I never said I was an expert, I stated my opinion from being in highly competitive softball for almost 20 years and coaching in college.
