  1. What age group is Bloomer coaching with the Sluggers now?
  2. I believe I said that it was only my opinion. Could you show me some examples where you think they underachieved this year and how you feel it was the coaches fault? I just don't see a lot of games they lost that were big surprises.
  3. I am going to try this it may not be completely accurate: James Dixie Halcomb, Simms Conner Stewart Lloyd Morgan Simon Kenton Oliverio,Crupper,Smith Ryle Koors Cooper Finke Notre Dame
  4. Allsport, what is it that you feel the coach is not doing that someone else would be able to? IMO, she got about all she could out of the group of girls she had. 2nd straight district title, deep run in the "A" state and basically a very competitive team. I am not sure why anyone would want to take that job, the pitcher/catcher combo will graduate this year and the following year will probably be a rebuilding year. I don't really know the Gallatin history, but my guess is the previous years did not have either the quality or quantity of players to play a 30+ game season. Scheduling a demanding schedule without the athletes (and resources) is a recipe for disaster. Coach Edmondson stuck with the team through the lean years I think she deserves the opportunity to enjoy the good times as well.
  5. Interesting post allsports44, you feel that WV players were blackballed because of John, but these same coaches voted him coach of the year. You also blame the Northern Kentucky Coaches for these players being left off, I would guess the 29th and 30th districts had more to do with this than the Northern Kentucky Coaches.
  6. Thank You, that explains it. Does make sense if it were a fly ball, 6-4-3 dp or K it would actually be penalizing the defense if it were an immediate dead ball.
  7. I absolutely agree with you that any or all 4 are worthy of being on the team. With probably 40 to 50 good players to choose from and only 15 spots I think you can see how the Gallatin votes could get split. I wouldn't argue with all 4 of the Gallatin girls and the 3 Walton girls that have been mentioned. Unfortunately, that is 7 of the 15 spots right there, would you fault any of the coaches for not voting all 7?
  8. In the Oklahoma-USF game the runner on first left early and the umpire stuck out his arm for a delayed dead ball. Is this not an automatic dead ball and immediate out? What would be the reason for a delayed dead ball?
  9. I was thinking 230' on the lines and 250' to center. I think there have been some HR's hit there but not many.
  10. Just my opinion on why Gallatin had no players, 4 very good players were nominated and I am betting their votes were split.
  11. I thought the error was on the 3rd baseman on the throw or the 1st for not catching the ball, assumed she was the starting 3rd baseman, she was the last time WV played SK. I think I will try to get out to see a few more games, couple really good games at SK this week.
  12. I think maybe the several errors is what I am missing. The LF from the last time SK/WV played moved to second and made a couple really nice plays, the new LF could have been sitting in the stands with us and it wouldn't have made any difference. WV made 2 errors that I remember and both were committed by players playing in the same position as the last time they played. Just the way I saw it, how did you see it differently?
  13. Sarge the errors made were by players in the same position as the last sk game. Not really sure of your point.
  14. Not sure how much the jumbled line-up hurt, back-up 2b made a couple plays I'm not sure the starter would have made.
  15. Not sure why everyone is so surprised, Bowling Green is a very good team. The Bowling Green area is the softball capital of Kentucky right now.
  16. Grant County gets out to a 7-2 lead with home runs by McClure and Sydnor. SK battles back to 7-5 entering the bottom of the seventh. Lang leads off with a single followed by a Draud single then a double by Morgan ties the game at 7. Turner then bunts Courtesy runner Telasz to 3rd and 7th grader Kennedy Baugh ends it with her 4th hit of the game. Heck of a high school softball game.
  17. Something I have always wondered: Does it somehow make it less of a loss if you committed errors that allowed the other team to beat you? Isn't defense part of the game as well? Unless you are only trying to defend the pitcher it is really kind of silly to mention the unearned runs. Correct?
  18. Can't completely agree with you on that, the ball Kring hit was a shot but was misplayed by the 3b, but the ball Straley hit was clean. Brossart was sloppy on some of the bunts though.
  19. Best record in the 9th. I think what cost NDA a little is they are the only northern kentucky top 10 team that has lost to teams outside of the top 10.
  20. I heard that early in her career she was throwing harder, but backed off on the speed a little for more movement. Anyway 62 from 40' is practically unhittable for the average high school hitter. That is why she was getting 400+ K's every year.
  21. I really think there are some misconceptions about how fast 62mph is. I am not an expert by any means, but I don't think anyone in Northern Kentucky can hit 60 right now including the pitchers at NKU.
  22. Just curious as to where you got your cost numbers for the 3 schools you mentioned? From the extensive research I did(google) all 3 are cheaper than TMC. Shame on them too for helping kids out with the cost of their education to come "play" JV softball. You said many of those kids are going to get discouraged and quit, very few kids that head off to college to play softball make it the full four years anyway for various reasons. The creative grant/award packages you mentioned, are they for athletes only? That would seem to be the same as awarding athletic scholarships. Sorry to get off the topic, I do not want to take anything away from Mamee's accomplishments.
