  1. Allen was hitting .460 going into tonights game and had a homerun in the first inning. I've seen her play for several years and never saw her play anywhere other than pitcher, but why would you play her anywhere else. Traveling to play the top level teams isn't always possible. Some teams may be able to afford that, but to take a bus, get motel rooms every weekend and pay for food isn't cheap. Not every team in the state has the funds to go to California, Florida and all over the state. It could be the opinion that it was unfair that North Laurel was able to make these trips and play the schedule they did.
  2. Scored the game winning run after reaching on a fielders choice that most of the SK fans thought was a game ending double play. I believe she was the only Shelby player with 2 hits.
  3. Shelby scores 2 with 2 out in the bottom of the 7th. Simon Kenton finishes 25-5, the loss snaps a 21 game win streak. Simon Kenton was as good, couple mistakes at the end did them in.
  4. If Sears was far better I would agree with you, with the career Allen's had to not give her the most prestigous individual award in the state would be wrong. I think it is just an unfortunate year for Sears to be a Senior.
  5. State Championship as a Sophomore, runner-up as a Junior, holds all career pitching records in the state and hitting stats are very good. I think Allen should win it.
  6. I agree Thunder it would have been nice to see a few more top twenty teams on their schedule. I don't think you can pick the South game out either and make a decision. South lost to Madison Southern right before the SK game and I sure wouldn't judge their team on that game. The problem I have with SK not getting any votes is the Northern Kentucky teams should be supporting one of their own. SK also beat Ryle last year with basically the same team.
  7. You have to put the blame on the coaches in Northern Kentucky. By not voting for the team with the second best record in your area and the longest winning streak in the state, you are proving what everybody else in the state already thinks....this is the worst area in the state for softball and nobody knows anything about it or cares. Look at the local coaches poll in the Enquirer for your proof. Conner 18-11, Simon Kenton 23-4 and Simon Kenton 2-0 against Conner, yet Conner is still ranked 2nd and Simon Kenton 3rd and it isn't even close. After this season for Ryle we probably won't see a Northern Kentucky team in the top 25 for a long time.
  8. I have not seen any scores, does anyone know if they have played?
  9. St. Henry is in the district with Villa, Dixie, and Heritage. You get Cooper next year.
  10. She will probably get some career hitting records before she is done. As for the comparison to Kirsten, IMO she is already a better hitter, she doesn't have the physical stature to be as good of a pitcher. She is 1 of a large group of good pitchers in the 8th and 9th grade in this area. It should make for some good softball in the next few years.
  11. Completion of last weeks rain-out, Farris 2 Home Runs, Bond HR,3B,2B, 15 wins in a row for Simon Kenton.
  12. I don't know if it was a question or not. She might be a D-1 prospect and no she probably won't be player of the year.
  13. 2 wins over Conner this week, I think Simon Kenton may be #2 now
  14. Wins over Holy Cross of Louisville,Boyd County,Conner for the second time this week, and Scott in the championship game. Simon Kenton has now won 9 games in a row.
  15. Ginn is their 1 and Hargett pitches as well, Ginn is a hand full at the plate.
