  1. Dixie played pretty good games against both Conner and SK with Turnovers being the big difference. Ryle is probably not as good as either, so this should be a good game if Dixie doesn't turn it over.
  2. I think the positives outweigh the negatives. The pitchers that will not work on pitching from 43' in the offseason are the same ones that would not be working on pitching from 40'.
  3. What is the reason for waiting until next season?
  4. First off, girls should never be required to play only one sport. I don't think there are any coaches in this area that are requiring their kids to play summer ball. I think most of the coaches would like their kids to play in the summer, but the interest level in this area is not high enough yet to where the coaches could even try to make that kind of demand.
  5. IMO- there really is not much difference in the value they had to their team or their supporting casts. The difference is one player had better stats in every pitching category except walks, every offensive category, and played outside of Northern Kentucky more often.
  6. I agree that this stuff is mostly political. What do you base Kelsey being more important to her team on?
  7. SK also played Greenup, Southern, Henry, East Carter, Harrison, East Jessamine, Grayson, South Laurel, Lafayette, Scott Co, West Jessamine, Boyd, Fort Knox in the regular season and Conner only played 3 teams from KY outside of Northern Kentucky. It is easier to get those all-state votes if you have been seen.
  8. Your right region 9 fan, Conner also did not get out of Northern Kentucky enough this year.
  9. Did North lose every game in their Tournament?
  10. A win in the final would have meant 29 wins in the last 30 games. 7-1 start still makes a pretty strong statement.
  11. Anderson Co. 6 Shelby Co. 1. Might have counted Anderson out a little to soon.
  12. Might be a while before another Northern Kentucky player wins Miss Softball. Miss Softball is voted on by the coaches and out of the 20+ teams in the 9th region only 3 are members of the coaches association.
  13. I hope this isn't a violation of the rules. The Kentucky Softball Coaches Association website has a list of the players who have signed.
  14. I'll take SK and here is why. I watched them go down 7-0 and 10-0 in the first quarter of their last 2 games and thought that was the end. They came back to dominate those 2 heavily favored opponents 42-0 in the next 3 quarters. I saw logical, straight shooting reasons why they would lose all 4 playoff games and the Campbell County game, all were wrong. A coin flip would have gotten you 40-60% better results. BTW predicting a 28-3 final would have been sufficient for a blow out, predicting 56-0 is just arrogant and insulting. Go Pioneers!!!!
  15. Who do you think will provide a challenge for Conner in the 9th?
  16. Doesn't Anderson still have the pitcher that shut Shelby out in the Region Championship game?
  17. 7 NCC 5 Simon Kenton 3 Highlands 2 Holmes 1 Carroll County Tiebreaker NCC
  18. My point was that other teams are pitching only 1 pitcher, Conners pitcher has pitched every inning for the last 2 years and nobody is making a big deal of it. If it does not help the team to pitch another girl then it is their choice. In my opinion Ryle would not have won a game at the state tournament with someone else pitching. The only reason to pitch someone else during the season would have been to take it easy on another team. If you were the team that they started another pitcher against how would you feel?
  19. I do see the point, but pitching in bad high school games isn't going to develop younger pitchers anyway. Most of these younger girls are pitching summer ball where the competition is better at the 12 and 14 year old level than it is in high school. I think she has earned the right to pitch every game she feels up to pitching.
  20. I really have no idea how good she is defensively, like I said I have never seen her play anywhere except Pitch, I would guess she is probably not as good as any of the starters in the infield. I don't think it was wrong for her to pitch every game as long as she felt well. She is the one that worked that hard to be that good, don't tell her she can't pitch because she is to good, how about if the other teams work to get better.
  21. Where would you play Kirsten if she wasn't pitching? I've never seen her at another position. The same thing happened across town, one pitcher pitched every inning there and they have 2 really good young pitchers. On the other hand, why penalize these girls for being good at what they do? You don't take a good shortstop out when you are playing bad teams.
  22. It will be a drop off, but the rest of the region is not very good, they will still be one of the better teams in the 9th.
  23. Saw them both this year, very similar players. I can see why their stats are so close.
  24. Ginn was just an 8th grader this year, and remember she plays a "Weak Northern Kentucky Schedule".
  25. Thunder, North Laurels schedule looks almost like a summer schedule with all the tournaments and very few weekday games. I know that is the best way to play a top notch schedule, but do you not also miss playing those local games during the week where it is a short drive and you get to build local rivalries? Ryle seemed to have a good mix of tournaments plus the local competition. I just don't think strength of schedule should be the deciding factor, it should be considered but not the top reason.
