As a very partial observer, I can't help but notice that the 31st District Champion, All A 8th Region Champion, All A State quarterfinalist, and 8th Region Semifinalist (Gallatin Co)did not earn any respect from the rest of the 8th Region coaches to warrant consideration for inclusion of any of their players on the 8th Region team. Kinda looks like they might have even punked by their fellow 31st District coaches.

With all due respect to Coach Anderson, how does Gallatin's Linda Edmondson not win Coach of the Year with the season they had no All Region players?

Unbelievable that Walton only got one player on the team. Center fielder Gregg (D1 signee) had a great year and Thacker (arguably the best pitcher in the region) both got the shaft.

Thacker did not make the NCKC team either, which is quite silly.

Just my opinion on why Gallatin had no players, 4 very good players were nominated and I am betting their votes were split.

Gallatin has several players worthy of making the team. No doubt about it something tells me in the near future they will have many. John Anderson has never won until this year. Long overdue in my opinion with the kind of work he has done.

First, let me say congrats to all the young ladies that made it. There are not too many players I would take over the 4 you are referring to. Your insight and opinion is greatly appreciated. Although, I understand what you are saying, I still think GC got punked by the coaches in their own district. Really should not matter who or how many nominated, considering that being nominated is not a requirement to receive votes. It also does not explain the glaring omission of any other WV players from the group. In another strange twist, there is a player that made the All Region team that did not make the NCKC team, which seems somewhat odd in my opinion. Politics can sure be ugly.

I am of the opinion that Coach Anderson is the best coach in the 8th, although there are several that do a great job. I think that Morgan at SK, Leanhart at Oldham, Glass at Anderson, Reed at Grant, Sutherland at Owen, and Cable at Shelby all do a wonderful job.

Polls, All Star Teams Almost getting as bad as Cheerleading Judges. Until we start letting the players vote it will get worse. I'd like to have the kids vote and see how it would go. One problem is no one sees everyone too. Some never vote also. How can you not have Gregg and Thacker on the team?

Awards are great,, unfortunately for softball in NKY they seldom get it right.

Jessica Gregg not being on this team is a flat out crime. She is an awesome player and is definitely one of the top players in the 8th region. Unbelievable that she did not make this team.
