I know Boyle lost to Mercy today but had Lone Oak lost already? Just trying to get a handle on the format.

Thanks. Not all the scores were reported here and found out on facebook that Lone Oak defeated Boyle 3-2. Makes since since I hadn't read where the two had played in the loser's bracket.

I think Mercy won the title when they beat Greenwood by 1. They may have won it anyway later on, but Greenwood was probably their biggest threat. The early point that Greenwood was relegated to the loser's bracket at put them behind the 8 ball and they couldn't get all the way back. Mercy won every other game in the tourney by 5 runs or more.

Mercy is to be congratulated, they seem to rock it in almost all sports. How big is Mercy in terms of students?

This is Mercy's first Softball State Championship. Woot!

The recently moved their campus from Broadway, just east of downtown out to the Fern Creek/J-Town area in the southeastern part of the county. It was a game-changer for them, no doubt about it. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I'd imagine that enrollments the last few years reflect some growth following the move.
